Indeed. This is not dead, simply resting. Come, come, my murderous colleagues.

Rimbaud,

Truly your forgiveness I implore, but the fact is I was napping and so gently you came rapping, and so faintly you came tapping, that I was scarce sure I heard you.

Here I opened wide the door, darkness there and nothing more.

Hmmm. Maybe I should check the window lattice...

BW,

No problem. I'll drop the "Musings" aspect of the post. It just sounded better at 1:30 AM than writing "Brak responds" by itself. In actuality I had nothing for Brak to muse upon. I'll post a quick response later today and we can be on our way.

I kept it short and simple. I normally wouldn't have posted until we were on our way but felt that Belin's question needed a response for the sake of continuity.

I look forward to the next stage of the journey.

Yeah, that question was another thing that seemed like a good idea at 1:30.

What's next?

Squawk?

Where art thou now, End of Crows, where art thou?
The lovely vagrant Moon doth search for thee,
Wand'ring the wide sky over, night by night,
As lorn and pallid as a fading girl.

With apologies to Keats and in hope for the rest of you.

I am being hammered into submission by RL to the point where I can't believe there are only 24 hours in a day. I'll have a brief respite around Friday and intend to post then. I apologize for the delay.

We are flying toward a lake in the foothills just to the west of Methedras while Pip'kha goes back to look for Fingot.

Rim, this is a chance to revive the character if you like. Everyone else, Let's get to the lake. Feel free to add any adventure you like getting there. Though I doubt we'll find much in such a wilderness. Maybe we'll at least see something interesting as we fly.

I'm sorry. I've been trying to write this post for days. Don't know why it should be so difficult, but I'll have it up as soon as I can.

Fear not for I am still around, as far as I can tell.

I was hoping to have something to contribute by today, but that seems pretty unlikely at this stage. Frankly, given my current state of mind, I can't really think of anything for Brak to do right now. While I'm sure it's a symptom of the amount of work I have for next week, I don't see the creative part of my brain turning on for another week or two.

I would very much appreciate it if someone gave Brak a "push" in the right direction. With a bit of guidance, I'm sure I'll be able to piece together something of at least marginal quality.

Another option is for Brak just to lay low while the Fingot storyline moves forward. At this point, Brak is not involved in current events, so we could just ignore him for a bit.

Anyways, anyone who will be posting, feel free to take some liberties with my character. It will hopefully spark some creative thoughts being held in lockdown currently.

Thanks much and sorry for the continued delays. I had no idea this month was going to be this brutal.

See you crows later.

Thank you, BW. Once I had enough sleep and was rested I enjoyed writing it.

I assume that Rim will take the four crebain back to the murder, but if he doesn't soon I will. It would seem to make sense to have some kind of response from Sparrowbane.

I was away over the weekend, but may now have a chance to write the post I owe. Fine work from the Wight and the River Daughter's Daughter, enjoyed reading them.

Now to get the old crow and his saviours back to the murder...he may have some interesting thoughts on the mission...

Name:Erthin Ironwing
Age:2

Small for a crow. He is a very fast flying and concelment. This crow is very rebelious whenever a leader forces him to do something. Though he is small he picks scraps withe other crows and leaders themselves. Most of the time he is busy creating "friction" with his leaders to just be rebelious. He is basically a typical teen in relationship to humans.

Nice post, Anglachel. Nice to see you back with the flock.

Captains, looks like Brak is not happy. Feel free to approach his anger any way your character sees fit, but keep the flock moving. The captains have gathered and you know what we are doing, so we should start flying right away.

Fingot, our learned advisor, will be setting our course. Until then, go in a general north-north-west direction.

Make him age 2 and then join the game by bothering one of the captains. Please note the typical posts we make and always write on a level commensurate with Rohan games.

Welcome to the game.

Hi Crows, I'll be out of the country for the next 8-9 days. Since Brak is currently MIA, I don't think this should interfere with the story too much. Regardless, I'll catch up with things when I return. Thanks and take care.

Shield

Fellow Rohan gamers,

Our gaming comes with a cost; it is time to reflect on this fact and make some changes to how we run our games.

We RPGers are the most voracious consumers of Barrow Downs resources. We use a game thread, a discussion thread, PMs to plan games, and are constant visitors to the site, often returning more than two or three times a day to keep up with developments in the game in order to prepare our own posts.

Why is this a drain on BD resources? Please take some time to read carefully and reflect seriously upon the Barrow Wight's recent posts in the "Announcements >> The Barrow Downs" forum concerning storage space and bandwidth, chat and discussion, and the costs of running the site, and then change your posting habits.

What are the most beneficial changes in our posting habits? For one, we need to stop using the discussion threads for idle banter, for personal comment. We must restrict our posts to discussion of the games only, that is, to issues of plotting, character interaction, clarification, and notification of absences. For most occasions, we don't need to make multiple posts about why we are absent or how we are doing and we don't need to make a string of 'see ya' posts in reply. For personal comments, we can use the chat room or PMs. A discussion thread that is far longer than a game thread is often a signal of a misuse of the discussion thread.

Please take the time to do several things: Delete posts or run of the mill comments in the discussion thread that have no bearing on the game. Refrain from such posts and comments in future discussions of the games. Limit your daily visits to the thread.

If we all help out, we can ensure that our games remain treasures in the Barrow Downs.

Thanks for being responsible gamers and credible members of the Downs!

After quite a long hiatus, the story now continues. I have updated my SAVE from April, though MCM has not moved up to the top since it was only an edit.

Now we can finally get to the culmination of this saga. Thanks for being patient crows while I was on extended leave for the past few months.

I've added another new post, though since the previous post was mine I've simply edited it on to the end and the thread has not been bumped, so I am posting here.

I looked up the scene in FotR where the crows fly overhead, and the recent plot actually does a lot to explain how that scene works--a group splits off from the main murder to see the Fellowship, and the crows disappear into the north and the west. I suppose that is how it would look from the ground, wouldn't it?

Though Ost-in-Edhel and the Hollin Ridge were more than 100 miles apart, I think we can continue on with the idea that Brak's crows found the Fellowship and is racing southward to Isengard in an effort to be the first to report to the White Wizard.

Akaaw will soon discern their treachery and give persuit.

All cameo appearances (you know who you are) would best occur soon, because it won't take long for is to reach Orthanc.
