Re: Ask us!

You got a quarter of the answer right. Tilion was assaulted, but you didn't say what assaulted him. Ariwn wasn't assaulted. The other half of the answer is found towards the end of the book.

Re: Ask us!

I am going to say Earandil was the other then, but he wasn't really attacked, it was during battle. but if i am right, and it was earandil, then ancalagon attacked him when morgoth loosed the winged dragons. and tilion was attacked by spirits of shadow or something(had to look that one up).

Yes, Vingilot was attacked by winged dragons during the War of Wrath, and Tilion was assaulted by spirits of shadow. Ask us!

Re: Ask us!

Astaldo, or Tulkas the Valiant, was the last of the Valar to come to Arda.

BTW, Durelin, I'm not going to openly critisise you (I've already got in trouble with the Admin (ie RK) for that once ) but would you mind using capital letters and all that in your posts? It just makes it easier to read. Of course, if you don't want to, that's fine... *cringe*

Oooooo, I know this one! but, I just can't think of it right now, curses. Curse this capitalization too, it is so hard to do once you are used to not doing it.

Think think think. Well I can't think of it. I guess, i might take a guess later.

Farmer Maggot of the Marish kept a beer that was at least as good as the Golden Perch brews; but Pippin didn't know it.

Feanor and Ecthelion were both slain by Gothmog. Many others were probably slain by him to but I am not sure if any others are mentioned

I agree with you, many others were surely slain by Gothmog, as Feanor and Ecthelion were, but there is at least one more mentioned in Silmarillion.

Ok, carrying on. What should have been the line of the High King's of the Noldor, if Maedros would have kept the title? From what is known in the Silmarillion.

Re: Really easy one

You have no idea how loaded a question this is for some people. I've seen lively debates on Noldorin rules of descent. One interpretation would be that Maglor, the only son of Feanor who survived Maedhros, would have become the king.

were kindled clear, and waxing bright
shone like stars that in the North
above the reek of earth leap forth."

Re: Really easy one

I guess this wasn't the greatest of questions.

This is how I would do it Feanor, Maehdros until he dies, Maglor until it was found that he couldn't be king, then from here it would fall back into what it is as we know it, unless we assume that Celebrimbor was Curufin's son. Then it would be Celebrimbor being the only decendant of Feanor still alive, or known to be alive.

Re: Really easy one

I guess I'll ask a new one. Which city did Telchar hail from?

Re: Really easy one

my turn, seemingly. ok, name grandfather of him, who firmly held mr Frodo to be the wisest person ever living (with the possible expetion of Mr Bilbo and Gandalf)

A story must be told or there'll be no story, yet it is the untold stories that are most moving
