One more question about Lurtz

I have one more question regarding Lurtz.

How do you know his name was Lurtz? It`s not mentioned in the movie,as far as I know. And he does not exist in the book.

narfforc has been trapped in the Barrow!
The name along with pictures were released ahead of the Films to the press, and on numerous websites, and of course it is in the credits. I don't take much notice of Lurtz, I believe he replaced a perfectly good Tolkien created figure from the book.

I think Lurtz was impressing. And scary.I remember the small children screaming in the theater when they saw him,and their mothers fussing when Aragorn cut his hand. Az if Tolkien wrote the book and PJ made the movies for children!
Remember that scene in the movie when the camera first showed Lurtz`s face, than that of Legolas, and then again that of Lurtz?
It was very good, like a parallel between good and evil,or the two sides of the medal. Like showing us what would Legolas have been like if he had been an orc, and what Lurtz would have been like if he had been an elf.

Pipe

I hope you don't mind me asking, but I'm having trouble remembering what character Lurtz replaced.
