Pipe The Istari

I know that there are at least 5 Istari in Middle Earth -Saruman,Gandalf,and Radagast but who were the others.

I can't recall their names at the moment, but they were the Blue Wizards, and they went into the far east.

in the Silmarillion, the hobbit, and the Lord of the rings, they are never given names, i believe, all it says is they have blue cloaks

1420!

Pallando and Alatar. They went into the far east to try to dissuade the men there to not join with Sauron in the War of the Ring. They pretty much succeeded in their mission seeing as how if the men from the east had joined Sauron, Gondor would have surely failed.

What became of them is uncertain as Tolkien never says.

Thumbs up

A couple actually.

I don't have my copy of the Silmarillion here with me but I believe they perhaps were mentioned in there, though by name I'm not sure.

The Unfinished Tales has the best information on them, in my opinion. Under the chapter "Istari" accordingly.

They are also mentioned in HoME XII but with different spelling to their names. It is mentioned, though, about what I stated above about thier success in this volume.

Hope that helps.

What is HoMe? Also, it is not in the Silmarillion.

They are also called Morinehtar and Romestamo, meaning "Darkness-slayer" and "East-helper".

Where did you get those names? I may have missed them when reading Unfinished Tales, but are there feedback on them elsewhere?
