I like Shelob's avatar for its hand-drawn greeness and spideriness.

Did the members of the site actually decide which avatar was the overall best?

I'm just going to hint that I am indeed arachniphobic, but I appreciate Shelob's attempt to make those hideous creatures seem a little more friendly. Thank you, and very nice job on the artwork.

Gotta love Looney Tunes...
I like it, Boromir - he's one of my absolute favorite Looney Tunes characters.
Second only to, of course, Road Runner. |

Maeggaladiel, art critic extraodinaire.
I like Meela's Jack Skellington avvie. I find it to be quite aestheticaly pleasing. The modernistic division of the original image into a gridlike pattern of alternating black and white gives it an amost baroque appearance, fitting nicely with the overall momento morte theme. The effect is quite dramatic, as it fits the smiling skull with a broken, almost macabre background to create an image that is both welcoming and disturbing. Also, me likes it cuz it got a skelly on it!

I don't suppose I can vote for my own new avatar? No? Ah, such is life. And so instead, I shall vote for the handsome Eomer's new Snoopy avatar, in hopes of sucking up enough that I get a compliment in return.
Also, I'd like to bring attention to Kransha's wyvern, Imladris' pretty lady, Oddwen's peacock tail feather, and Sharku's little green worm made me laugh helplessly. Fea

It is Lord Dark Helmet from Spaceballs, played by the wonderful, yet not acknowledged enough actor, Rick Moranis

Just as a suggestion, Gil-Galad, if you wished, you could change your location to "Plaid." I salute Eormer of the Rohirrim's avatar as well; it is quite stylish. |

You know.... having followed Bethberry's signature, I've gotten as far as Ghostbusters. That makes me think that The Barrow-Wight's avatar is this fellow. Only the eyes aren't right. So I was also thinking of Slimer, but Slimer's not so friendly looking as BW's... Alas for the difficulties of my life here...
Fea Oh yeah- thanks for the props on Casper...

Thank you all. I thought it was time for a change and Joe Cool's little smile reminds me of myself.
Fea, I may be handsome but I also dislike Casper so no compliments for you, my dear. Gil-galad's is very cool. Dark Helmet was a good character. However, I must point out that I despise Lonestar, or whoever was the so-called hero in that film. Estel's Wario is still one of my favourites. Mirroring my last comment, it goes with my hatred of Mario. Ah me, I have issues....

Thanks a bunch Eomer, i'm always putting up Avatars of good films to remind people here of their greatness...
"SIr, our radar is jammed!" "Rasberry jam...only one man would dare use rasberry jam on me...lonestar..."

Ah, but Estel, I'm no ordinary girl. What's Snoopy do? Lay on a roof all day? Admittedly that's fun, but Wario... now he's a professional saboteur...

I've just hit upon yet another idea. If someone does get a Mario avatar (which I suppose someone could do to make the point) I may be uncontrollably cold to that person for no other reason than my hatred of Mario. So unfair, I know, yet so psychologically inviting.
And that's not just for Mario, oh no. There are plenty avatar-friendly characters who are on The List of Animosity. So I might as well get my apologies in now. So.......anyone hate Snoopy?
