Sting Searching for Frodo analyzes

I'm looking for an analyze concerning only Frodo. I know about something called "Tolkien and Frodo Baggins"by Roger Sale from Tolkien and critics(?) or something like that. Does anyone know if it's worth it,
or do you know any interesting analyzes on Frodo?

Child of the 7th Age is a guest of Tom Bombadil.

Banazir --

I have a copy of the book which you mention. It does contain Sale's essay on Frodo. Yes, I have found his writing helpful. It is quite lengthy, pp. 247-88.

He deals with a great many different themes: the triangular relationship between Sam, Gollum and Frodo; Sam and Frodo's relationship, including the question of how "equal" they are; the unique role of the hobbits in the narrative in helping us learn things through their eyes.; and most importantly what type of hero Frodo was.

Sale also has a book on 3 modern heroes in literature and one of them is Frodo. I don't know if this just includes the same stuff as the essay or if it has more information on Frodo.

This book also has other interesting essays as well., e.g. Marian Zimmer Bradley, Men, halflings and hero worship.

I bought the book on e-bay for about $10.

Let me know if you need more info. Though I won't be back on the computer till sunday..

Man, I'd love to have that essay!
Ironically, I'm searching for the same thing- an analysis on Frodo only.
Cool.

Mark -- Bilbo's Last Song is published as a beautiful children's picture book. I bought it on e-bay in hardcover for about $13. (t was also published in paper.) I just kept inputting the title every day till a copy came up.

I love this book. It is one of my favorites. One page shows Bilbo's memories from his past adventures and the facing page shows the procession of the Elves, Gandalf, and Bilbo as they travel towards Grey Havens, the meeting with Frodo and Sam, the arrival of Merry and Pippin, the final goodbyes, etc,

You may laugh, but that little poem and book were one of the main things that made me feel more comfortable about the sailing to the West!
