Ring Riddles in the Dark 1938

Has anyone had the opportunity to read the Original version of the chapter Riddles in the Dark? I have. What do you think of it? And for those of you who haven't been so lucky, come here to complain!

My copies of The Hobbit aren't nearly old enough to have the original version of the story. Additionally, I've never read it. My best hope is the used book shops (since I tend to be rather suspicious of buying things over the internet). I'm a fiend for old books anyway, but I don't have the time to search that I once did.
It would be nice if one day the Estate would release the first version, at least on a limited-run basis. I'm not holding my breath, though.

Leaf Another option...

A quick Goggle search found an on line side by side comparison between the two versions...

Yes. Try the illustrated edition, which has various versions of TH as sidenotes or in the back. Don't have it with me, but it's fairly recent and gives various editions throughout the years.

Narya

I actually have a book of horror short stories, and the 1938 Riddles in the Dark was in it. That's how I got to read it. Jealous, anyone?
