Children of Faramir?
I've been trying to find this out for a while now. Does anyone know if Faramir and Eowyn have any children?
Amazingly enough my copy of LotR doesn't have the appdeinces due to a mad dog. Soo... anyone able to help? ~sethoz |

There is no record of Faramir and his wife Eowyn ever having any children.

In the prologue of LotR, it is said:

Wasn't there a descendant of Faramir who was mentioned somewhere in the Appendices? (I lent mine out to a friend, so I don't have it at hand.)

Once again I stand corrected. I had forgotten that he had a grandson named for Beren Cuthalion's father! My apologies.

I think Faramir's children are like Merry's children - there are clues that he had them, but no specific record of their names and numbers anywhere. So feel free to imagine whatever you like best .

In "The Peoples of Middle-Earth" (HoME 12) we get the genelogical table of the the princes of Dol Amroth von Angelimar to Alphros. And since Faramir was the son of Finduilas the sister of Imrahil he and his son is given in that table the son is named Elboron. Since he is the only child given in that table we can assume that this Elboron was the father of Barahir how wrote the Tale of Aragorn and Arwen.

Ahh yes, Elboron son of Faramir, named for an as-of-yet undiscovered element of the periodic table.

Yes, the periodic table was pretty near to my thoughts when I saw that name. Also macaroni elbows - poor kid!

That ranks up there with Teleporno (Celeborn's original name) and Wetwang on J.R.R. Tolkien's List of Funny Names.

Elboron - El (star) Boron (faithful); from Voron or Voronwë.
His name means Faithful Star.
