Orcrist has just left Hobbiton.
Sting Maiar and Valar

Were the Maiar Valar or was it just the fourteen that were Valar? I think the Maiar were Ainur, but so were the Valar. So the Maiar were the servants of the Valar, but not Valar themselves. So, do the Valar have more "powers" than the Maiar?
Knowing me, I probably just read this and didn't even think about it.

They are all Anuir, but the Valar were more powerful and the maiar made them thier kings and queens.

Yes, the Maiar are not Valar. The Valar were just the fourteen and no more.
