Well, since "Eldarin" is an umbrella term for "Elvish languages," here's both Sindarin and Quenya.

Sindarin:
Female: ending of -riel
Man (I don't know male): adan

Quenya:
Female: inya
Male: hanu, hanwa, hanuvoite

ok, randomnisity, i know that Arwen means woman in Sindarin, so, hehe, Arwen's name means woman, which would explain her betrothal to Aragorn, as he's a man and all...

Just kidding. But for lack of a better question:

What is the material known as "moon-sparkle"?

I've come to the conclusion that I need to stop answering questions so I don't have to ask them, because I ask such bad questions…D'Arvit.

In other words, you're correct, as usual.

O.K. It has been a while, so if whoever's turn it is wants to go, go ahead. If not the next question is:

What was the kind of tree that replaced the party tree at Bag End?

Well, it seems that no one is going to ask another question, so I might as well.
Question- How old was Pippin when he went to Minas Tirith?

How many words long did J.R.R Tolkien estimate "The Lord of the Rings" to be?

"Wicked, wicked Master."
I suppose the answer would be found in the Letters book. Of which I don't have.
So I'll start counting......

All right, all right, nice master will give the answer: 600,000. I don't know if this is how long it is, but Tolkien states that number in several of his letters to Allen & Unwin.

Hmm,
Fotr = 188,270 words
TTT =154,459 words
RotK =135,397 words
Total = 478,108 words

That includes table of contents, but not the Appendix. I got bored after the end of RotK, so if someone wants to count the words in the Appendices go right ahead.

I had a feeling Tolkien was over-estimating. (I would take my cap off to you, Beren87, but I'm not wearing a cap...)

I recently wrote a story that is 176,389 words long. I was proud of that, but I guess I'll have to work harder to come close to Tolkien!
