The sticking point for you would be "male". No male has ever gained admittance to the club. But never fear! There is another option. Because of rising demand over the past couple years, I have started The Phantom Sidekick Club International (it's male only). Once again, there is a lot of testing and sacrifice required, but should you gain membership you will receive renown nearly equal to Fan Club members. Not only that, but you can be promoted. You start off as a Toady and can work your way through the ranks (Boot-licker, Suck-up, Lackey, Lackey First Class, Yes-man, Admirer) all the way up to "Sidekick". Five years after attaining the rank of Sidekick you will be awarded the title "Phantom-friend". Quote:

Please try to stay on topic or I have no doubt that this thread will be closed.

Chatters - there's no need to post your personal comments here. You have the wonderful possibility of PMing the person to whom they are addressed; please take advantage of that. When the time comes for a big forum clean-up, you may notice your post count diminishing significantly...

I giggled a bit at davem's sig, but I'm not sure I'd want to take on oblo without very good reason.
And while on the subject of people I wouldn't want to take on, I continue to enjoy burra's sig which hasn't changed in forever: Quote:

Ah yes, when I first joined the Downs I was at home and I took a lot of crap for it. But right now I am on my own in a college dorm room and I don't have to deal with that stuff.

So true, Encaitare. The only reason I would never get rid of Valentine's day is the chocolate...well, that and the whole Saint Valentine thing...

I like Oddwen's: The roses are wilting, the violets are dead, the sugar bowl's empty, and so is your head!
Some people might not get mine, the first part's a German happy birthday song, and the second part's from The Pirates of the Carribean.

History 12. My teacher likes to give quotes for all the people we're to remember to make it easier. This was one of Lenin's obviously. It seems the time of year that my Highschool turns a little Marxist because of the overzealous History students. There are communist Russia quotes on all the side chalkboards and Blackballing lists in people's binders. Learning is fun.
Why am I using such a...er, shall we say aggressive quote? I suppose I just find the idea extremely interesting.

Ah, good old communism, and all those other lovely forms of government. What I love is how the teachers hand us "Mein Kampf" to read for history class and then tell us to be accepting of others.
And just because I don't like Orwell, I put his books next to Marx's on the bookshelf. Hah! Yup, no life... It is a cool quote, though, in a really twisted sort of way. And it's rather a bit of a change from the rest of the LotR-themed or song-lyric sigs. |

Ah, Mein Kampf. The funniest joke in the otherwise fairly bland satire Churchill: The Hollywood Years was certainly a British effete mistaking Hitler's political diarrohea for a more salacious tome: Me in Kamp F. Gorgeous.

In Holland we have a cut version of ''Mein Kampf'' because they are afraid that people will use the ideas Hitler used

Really the governmental theories (ie: Communism) in themselves are good, it is simply how the "Leaders" interpret and manipulate the theory to their own desires. Intentions may even start out good but power can be very corrupting (sorry for the cliche).
