Are male Eldar of the high House allowed?
Royal lineage is a must for all Elvish members, so on that point you are most welcome.

The sticking point for you would be "male". No male has ever gained admittance to the club.

But never fear! There is another option.

Because of rising demand over the past couple years, I have started The Phantom Sidekick Club International (it's male only). Once again, there is a lot of testing and sacrifice required, but should you gain membership you will receive renown nearly equal to Fan Club members.

Not only that, but you can be promoted. You start off as a Toady and can work your way through the ranks (Boot-licker, Suck-up, Lackey, Lackey First Class, Yes-man, Admirer) all the way up to "Sidekick".

Five years after attaining the rank of Sidekick you will be awarded the title "Phantom-friend".

Is 5% of $0 still $0?
Don't worry about it. I don't expect Elvish nobility to work a steady job. Just give me a lump sum of $100,000 and we'll call it good (that should be pocket change for a royal).

I just found this amusing one by Encaitare...
Quote:

Heh heh, indeed.

1420! Bob, I mean, Dave. M's new sig:

Quote:
'All right, davem. You have succeeded in being a pest. I thought it was clear enough so I didn't go into it, but I will clarify just for you.' ...Obloquy: 'Boldogs, Gothmogs and Sauron's New Clothes' (davem)
Is that something, or is that something?

I think that's a sig.

But that's still a something. Well, technically.

I love it! I'm using this joke in Band class later.

EDIT(later that afternoon): I used it in class, my teachers thought I was very clever, then I told them where I'd read it, then people mocked me...

I giggled a bit at davem's sig, but I'm not sure I'd want to take on oblo without very good reason.

And while on the subject of people I wouldn't want to take on, I continue to enjoy burra's sig which hasn't changed in forever:

He's even worked his clever links right in.

Ha ha!

Serves ya right! You should know better than to give a source for your jokes (or for anything, actually). Just pretend like it's your own material.

Always remember, originality is the fine art of remembering what you hear but forgetting where you heard it.

Nilpaurion's recently ended series of constantly changing "quotes" of characters has been a steady stream of humor as well.

I'll second Nuranar's choice.

So true, Encaitare. The only reason I would never get rid of Valentine's day is the chocolate...well, that and the whole Saint Valentine thing...

Oh, and thanks for your sympathy. I get mocked for everything these days...it's very depressing.

History 12. My teacher likes to give quotes for all the people we're to remember to make it easier. This was one of Lenin's obviously. It seems the time of year that my Highschool turns a little Marxist because of the overzealous History students. There are communist Russia quotes on all the side chalkboards and Blackballing lists in people's binders. Learning is fun.

Why am I using such a...er, shall we say aggressive quote? I suppose I just find the idea extremely interesting.

Ah, good old communism, and all those other lovely forms of government. What I love is how the teachers hand us "Mein Kampf" to read for history class and then tell us to be accepting of others.

And just because I don't like Orwell, I put his books next to Marx's on the bookshelf. Hah!

Yup, no life...

It is a cool quote, though, in a really twisted sort of way. And it's rather a bit of a change from the rest of the LotR-themed or song-lyric sigs.

Ah, Mein Kampf. The funniest joke in the otherwise fairly bland satire Churchill: The Hollywood Years was certainly a British effete mistaking Hitler's political diarrohea for a more salacious tome: Me in Kamp F. Gorgeous.

In Holland we have a cut version of ''Mein Kampf'' because they are afraid that people will use the ideas Hitler used

White Tree

Really the governmental theories (ie: Communism) in themselves are good, it is simply how the "Leaders" interpret and manipulate the theory to their own desires. Intentions may even start out good but power can be very corrupting (sorry for the cliche).

Hello Canadian weather!
And Upstate New York weather. But the lines are actually from a song that's commonly mislabelled. The song is called Valley of Misery, and is by a band called Darcane (formerly known as Holochaust (<-name changed for political reasons, I believe)), but is commonly thought to be an unreleased Metallica song originally supposed to be on the album Saint Anger. As if anyone really wanted to know. But it's a good song. Just about the only way to get it in the USA though (if you have no credit card or don't trust the web services) is through the so inconveniently illegal Kazaa. Sad that some of my favorite bands are impossible to find around here.
