What is another name for the Seat of Amon Hen, and why was it called that?

The Seat of Seeing, but I can't find why it is called that.

I think Pallando is right, but I also found this:
Amon Hen was the Hill of the Eye, or Hill of Sight. Its partner, Amon Lhaw was the Hill of Hearing. Aragorn said (in FotR) that in the days of the Great Kings, high seats were placed there so that a watch could be kept all around.

Shouldn't Pallando get this?
After all you were asking for the Seat and not for the Hill. greetings, lathspell

No, Pallando didn't include why, and you did [more or less], so it is your turn Eruanna.

OK, thank you. Here's my question:
There were originally 7 Palantiri or Seeing Stones. The Master Stone was in Eressea in the Tower of Avallónë, where were the rest kept?

Are you looking for their locations in M-E? or are you looking for where they were in Aman before they were given to the Numenoreans?
In M-E they were located at Elostirion in Emyn Beriad, Annuminas, Amon Sul, Orthanc, Minas Anor, Minas Ithil, and Osgiliath. In Aman... *shrugs* I've not been able to find anything... I think if those locations are listed it must be in some part of the "sacred writings" that I don't have a copy of -Sophia

Well done (as usual )

This special arrow belonged to Beleg.
What was its name? And why was it special?

What was Gorlim's 'shame' and why?

Gorlim's *shame* was that he betrayed his friend Barahir and his *gang* to the forces of Morgoth. Captured and tortured he would not give them up, until he was made to believe that his (in fact dead) wife would be restored to him if he told the whereabouts of their hiding place in Dorthonion. After the bargain was made Sauron revealed that what Gorlim had believed to be his wife, was actually a phantom, created by evil magic. Barahir and the rest were found and killed (the Orcs holding onto his hand bearing his ring, later recovered by Beren, his son) and Gorlim was "cruelly put to death" as his *reward* for his treachery........Will that do? The lamps were Ormal and Iluin, and they were set up by Aule on pillars in the north and south of Almaren.

It was a large feast in which all the leaders of the Elves in Beleriand (minus Thingol) got together and ate order out pizza (I mean good food) and discussed the future.

What marriage took place on a famous island right before an attack? Hint: the island is not Numenor.
Bonus, name the island and what attacked what.

A guess: The isand was Aman, and it was the marriage of Finarfin and his wife (forgot her name and I don't have the books).
The Battle was the Kinslaying at Alqualonde.

Nope. I wouldn't really consider Aman to be an island, rather a large continent. Also, I didn't say battle, but attack...

Was it the marriage of Dior Eluchil to Nimloth upon the island of Tol Galen [where Dior's parents, Beren and Luthein, lived], right before the Dwarves of Nogrod attempted to assail the same island? [they were, of course, defeated bv Beren and co.]
