1420!

Um, I think I'd better take it.

The High Ruler and delicious uncooked iguanas live in harmony-in the woods, in the trees, lovely empty gorgeous olive l'Asteure-Solaire groves.

Yes. No clue this time, as its probably obvious

That's okay, I figured out what you meant!
Here's the new one:

"A favor" Eli begged. Anything, old friend!" the king replied. "Knighting Alen?" the man asked. The king appeared deep in thought. "Hmmm, Eli...and Alen is your son? Eli began to laugh. "I, King Isaac, am lost. You misunderstand. Alen is my father! My son is named Michael." The king laughed too. "Michael? We shall knight him as well! Bring them tomorrow!"

There are five. All are closely related.

Question

Quote:
This year, I travelled to South America with a group of friends in order to explore the Orinoco river. The desire to see the world had come upon me like a timebomb, urging me to pastures new.

Charting first the north Orinoco, my companions and I travelled in two boats called the Red Orinoco and the Green Orinoco. Then, after three days' journey down the river, we set out on foot. Our guide and friend, Wali, naturally knew the way. So, taking my trusty staff, I lifted my pack onto my back and followed the group into the depths of the rainforest. And, as we continued our trek, I listened out for the sounds of the abundant wildlife about me.

Some time later, we came to a village where the locals, wearing loincloths, welcomed us with great warmth. Finding it to our liking, we stayed there for a number of days. And what a different lifestyle we enjoyed there, being used as we were to the hubub of urban living. Indeed, I would quite happily have set up home there amongst tree and shrub, if urgent business in Caracas had not drawn me away.

I am going to Bali next year.
There are thirteen words to find, all very closely related.

I think that was perfectly charming, oh Saucepan Man! Of course it is the 13 Dwarves from the Hobbit,
Dwalin, Balin, Fili, Kili, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Oin, Gloin, Nori, Ori, Dori, and of course, the great Thorin Oakenshield himself.

I have a question, was Oin to be found within Gloin? I haven't spotted him anywhere else...

Sorry Madame Le Petit Choux. Been away for a few days. You are, of course, correct.

And Oin was to be found along with Balin in the final sentence:

Let's see if this is tricky enough to last at least 1/2 an hour.

Captain Flatbeard was ordering hair cuts for his dastardly pirate crew. “Doug, I’m liking you with a Mohawk. Mullets for Pippi Nonstocking, Fast Rider Sam, Greg and Alf and Tom. Err, you, Lyle, go last and get an afro. Dob, or O Mirabelle no haircut you don’t need one”

There are nine closely related words.
READY...SETTY...GO!

Ok, let's hope I can make a better go of this than my last attempt at creating a "Words in Words"

Quote:
Ivan Yarrow and his wife Ava rise early each day. However, today was special. They had a lot to do, as their cousin, Arnold Orwell was coming to stay.
Arnold had offered to stay in an hotel. "Er, in this family we help each other out," declared Ivan. Later, after tidying the house and preparing a meal, Ava happily held Arnold in her arms.
There are five words in words.

Question

Thank you, Eruanna.

Quote:
Scott was a good looking lad. This was evident from the fact that he was always surrounded by a mob of fine young ladies, continually telling him what a good body he had. Certainly, he was not chubby in the least.

As a result of all this attention, he became rather headstrong and took to racing his sporty coupe down the street, burning rubber as he went. Some thought his behaviour rather retro. Personally, however, I quite admired the guy.

Many wondered how Scott, on his meagre salary, managed to maintain his youthful good looks. His secret lay in his bag, which he took with him wherever he went. One day, a particularly inquisitive old man had asked him what was in the bag. "Ginseng", Scott had replied "I mix it in a secret concoction, which I take daily, together with a custard bun, cereal and a measure of brandy". Bucking the trend, he had come up with his own secret recipe for eternal youth.

And ever after, his name became a byword for youth, some might say a symbol. Geriatrics would queue up outside his door and would pay hansomely for his elixir. Indeed, all the townspeople had wanted a go, old and young alike.
There are thirteen words in words, all related.

Okay, here goes. Sadly, bein' the simple minded Hobbit that I am, It won't be as witty as Mr. Saucepans' work, if you understand me, but....
There're 10 words in here, taken from FOTR or TTT (that I can think of). A couple of them appear twice.

Ellie Rose was very concerned about her bills. She recieved countless phone calls about them. The phone rang and rang.
Finally she was so stressed by it she started talking funny. "Me 'arrass no more! " she shouted in her mind, groaning to herself. "Man, where will I ever get the money? My savings has been dwarfed ! "
Then one day, a stranger came from nowhere, it seemed, and gave her all of the money she needed !
"Thank you!" she said over and over again. "Who are you? "
"Theo Redman is my name." said the stranger as he disappeared into the shadow. "Fax me or call me when you're ready to pay me back. There's no hurry. "
Mark my word, Ellie Rose paid Theo back as soon as she could!

Ack. Well, there it is. 10 words, two of them appear twice...

"groaning to herself. Man where will I ever get the money? My savings have been Dwarfed"

From Eomer's speech to Aragorn and company:What business do an Elf a Man and a Dwarf have in the Riddermark?

Still looking

Whoop. Realized I wasn't looking for eros either.....though there's something else in there I'm looking for that's close.
[EDIT]
Oop--never mind, Silmarien already got eored.
So, so far you've all found:

Elf
Man
Dwarf
eored
and
  • Rose x2
  • Meara
  • Shadowfax
    and
  • Mark
There is another that appears twice, and another that you folks haven't gotten yet.

*orc*--Whoa! Didn't even know that one was in there!

Actually, Eruanna, that's not one of the ones I was looking for either. One is in plain sight, hint: he was a member of the Fellowship. The other is not quite in as plain sight, but it was the chosen occupation
of one of the other members of the Fellowship.
