Tolkien Prologue thievery???

Not sure if this should be here or Novices and Newcomers, but...

Has anyone noticed that the prologue to the Fellowship of the Ring game for Ps2 is quite similar to the one in the film? I'm not sure which came first, the film or the game (I think it was the game), but I'd be really interested to know.... I mean Pj went on about how it was really hard for them to do the prologue, I can't help wondering if he got a little bit of help from the game version! It could just be coincidence, or the fact that there is only one way to approach it, but.... It'd be interesting if Pj was influenced by it.

Thumbs up

Yes, the game came a few years before the first film. Before PJ and his gang could seal the publishing rights to Fellowship.

I personally enjoyed the prologue in the Game, it was well done and an interesting interpretation. I would not be surprised if PJ got some inspiration from the way they did it. Mind you, there are few enough other ways to do said prologue.

I haven't researched anything, but even if the game came out a couple of years before the movie did, the game could have gotten it from the movie because Pj had been working on it for about 5 years.
