The Eye The fall of the Dark Tower : how did you feel?

The fall of Barad-Dur signalled the end of an era, & largely the end of the LOTR. Does anyone feel sad by its fall? Would you rather see it standing still, with Middle Earth evenly poised at war?

Meriadoc1961 has just left Hobbiton.
I did not feel saddened by the fall of Barad-Dur, but I was saddened at the thought of the Elves, Gandalf, Bilbo and Frodo leaving Middle-earth.

The Eye

Even Tolkein was at a loss at trying to make a sequel. Once the Dark Tower fell, Middle Earth was never the same. There was nothing left to go on to continue the tale. That is the main reason which made the whole thing sad.
