Question Potential Moderaters

This topic should either go in the Barrow Downs or here. As I was not sure exactly, I put it here.

Now I noticed different forums with moderaters, and some without moderaters. This thread is for who you think should be moderaters where.

I think Beren87 for Quoteable Quotes and Lindolirian or Pallando B.C for the Quiz Room.

Does anyone else have some suggestions.

Total and absolute agreement. Beren would make the perfect mod for QQ, knowing all the answers...

Close all the Forums except Books. Keep Esty as Mod. Instead of a Dark Wight, you would have a Dark Queen, terrible as the night, or something. Really scary anyway, with effects.

Quotable quotes is not a challenge in the least, given that everyone has access and can search the books via text files on a computer. Does QQ really need a mod? No. The administration can handle the problems there, which are few and far between. That forum runs itself, pretty much.

That's certainly not true. I do quite a lot of work in there and in the Quiz room PMing players when it's their turn and asking people not to post on repeat topics. I direct newer players to the Quiz Room Rules (that I created might I add) and people have been PMing me like mad to answer questions that they have or to ask me to take over for them while they're gone.

And, yes you can search through text files for quotes but I do not. There's not fun in that!

I agree that Lindolirian would be a good choice as well, he would need to be on a little more. (although, most of the mods and Admins here aren't on all that much. Mithadan and lindil are the too that I see quite frequently. Child of the 7th Age and Estelyn are on a nice bit as well. But I'm on for generally on for at least 8 hours a day, refreshing the page about every 5 minutes.)

And finally, I thank you for the nomination.

I agree that Beren would be very good. I have seen that he is not only a formidable quiz master, but also a good administrator. As for your pick of me, I'm quite flattered, but as Beren87 points out:

I'm not on nearly as much as he is. I would be willing to help out as an assistant mod along with Pallando B.C, but I think Beren87 would be my choice the head mod.

And finally, isn't this BW's department? I'm sure he'll read this and get some insight of what we all think, but we are not the ones who choose this stuff. He is.

Actually, I've had people inform me that they've sent BW a reccomendation via PM for me to be MOD. So I don't know how that went. I realize that some of my previous posts against the reorganization of the RPG rooms may have lit a fuse, but what I was really calling for was MORE moderation, not less. Only burra seems to have understood that.

[Edit] The lang. forum I assume is now being integrated into the others DaughterofVana, as it has disapeared

Glad it's taken care of already then. Now perhaps we can let this immense faux-pas of a thread rest in peace?

Well, I don't care who gets it as long as it gets done. The point is a MOD is needed.

Guys, you're totally missing the point. We need a Religion forum. With burra as moderator.

Specking as an owner and Admin of a site I think that the choosing and selecting of forum Moderators is one of the hardest and most important tasks that any Board Admin will ever have to make. It is a sometimes-thankless task that involves much responsibility and maturity for the selected few. Much time and energy is required to keep and maintain a healthy, objective and unbiased forum.

A skilled Moderator is worth his/her weight in gold, it is the Moderators responsibility to keeps the forums moving in a healthy and interesting direction while maintaining the highest possible standards.

For the above reasons I believe that only a few people currently posting on the Downs are capable and worthy of this burden and none are those who have blown their own horn. A few deserving members have already received the mantel of mod and justifiably so, People like Estelyn Telcontar, Sharku, Mister Underhill, Gilthalion and Rimbaud have shown a great deal of Maturity and have shouldered the responsibility admirably while others who would like to be made mods would be utter failures.

To me it is the silent posters, who only post when needed and who enrich discussions, which fulfil the above requirements that are worthy of being made moderators. For me I would love nothing more than to see more people given the chance to prove their worth but I think the Downs now has an abundance of moderators. But my list for potential Moderators is this:
Mhoram
Onewhitetree
Legolas
Samewise
Lush
