I seem to remember hearing that not all the kingdoms of the south like Sauron's dominion, but they were largely outnumbered and were lost under the infleunce of Sauron's allies.

I think I made most of that up, but it sounds plausible, no one will ever know, hahaha!

Do you ever wonder why companies of Easterlings, etc just went to help Sauron. I wonder what their leaders told them to do such a thing, no groups men are just evil are they?

PROPOGANDA is evil! I wonder if they said Elrond was a big scary red eye??

Ha! I like that.

No doubt, a story could be written where Sauron was a kindly, wise, white bearded old man and Mount Doom (Mount Hope?) was a beautiful snow-capped mountain. And dark, foreboding, volcanous mountains loomed over Rivendell, where the Dark Lord Elrond consulted with the Witch-King Gandalf.

It all depends from which side of the fence you are looking.

The Saucepan Man's man theory is quitte possible in the eyes of Easterlings and the Haradhrim.

Sauron's kingdom extended very far, because of his two "Captains" in Dol Guldor and in Isengard, altough the amjority of Easterlings and Haradhrim were under Sauron's dominion there was no resistance to Sauron's power in the East and South because the Easterlings and such hated Gondor and Rohan, especially the Wainraiders.

Therefore I assume that Sauron's dominion extended far into the East and South
