Sitting behind the leader is Gwath, then Shasta and Eonwe, and then Boro. The leader is of course Nilp- though he didn't have the quality round this time so his cushion isn't as big headed into the finals.

Congrats on a tournament well played everyone! I hope you enjoyed the writing and competition. Many thanks to the match writers- Boro, Nilp, Nog, and Shasta, and thanks to Galadriel and the other writers for the network coverage.

As a prize for the winner, Nog, I would encourage everyone to stick some sort of congratulations or praise of him into your Barrow-Downs signature for a few days.

Also, the winner is given his choice of two rewards-
1) Automatically earn a spot as a Werewolf on next year's Tol In Gaurhoth team
2) Become a free agent Wight and have the opportunity to negotiate and sign with one of several teams that will approach with offers during the off-season.

Whichever prize our champion picks, the unchosen prize becomes the consolation prize, given to the individual that finished lowest in the standings despite remaining active through the end of the tournament. Sometimes it pays to have bad luck, eh Inzil?

And remember to brag about where you finished to anyone that wasn't so fortunate.

This was a tight one! Thanks to everyone playing and making this such a thriller. Special kudos to Sally and Legate who raised their level consistently towards the end - I'll bet you will be tough ones the next season - and of course to Nilp and Gwath for that hair-rising ending!

Also a deep bow to the phantom for once again pulling off a great tournament, and Boro especially for the TTN (We here at the AKM love the TTN, let's see again next season)! And thanks to Shasta and Galadriel for your writing - and looking forwards to others joining the "writing squad" the next year!

tp: I am actually feeling like choosing the free agency for next season as Nogrod has played for the T-I-G team quite many ears so that could be an interesting change. But as a Wight? Couldn't it be as a Werewolf?

First, congratulations to Nogrod for that fine finish--like your team Real Valinor, you were struggling at the starter's block but found your stride near the finish. (Whereas I, like my team AC Beleriand, had a bad semifinals and failed to recover from that.) Also my undying hatred for Gwathagor, in the same way I hate the L.A. Lakers, Manchester United, and the Brazilian national football team--for being so consistently darn good at what they do.

Next, thank you the phantom for giving me the chance to write. I had so much fun, even though I felt like running out of gas at times. I had a blast following my AC Beleriand for seven matches, but I reserve much of my delight for the Doriath squad. I didn't even ask for that team, but I enjoyed immensely writing their matches.

As a side note, apologies to those who felt weirded out or overwhelmed by my attention to formations and especially the pitch diagrams I introduced this season (and if anyone is wondering where I got them, I refer you to this.)

To my fellow sportswriters, Boromir88, Nog, Shastanis Althreduin, and phantom: it was an honour writing with you. Galadriel55, you are perhaps the most astute writer of things almost-football I've ever read--take what you will of that. And to the big-boy networks of the Arda Cup, MESPN, TTN, and AKM: thank you for not being too hard on TENT during their maiden season. Expect the barbs to start showing next season.

And finally, to everyone who joined the Phantasy Competition: I'll beat you all next year.
