The Eye Shield Surfing

I saw the Two Towers yesterday and somehow, somehow, I missed the famous "Legolas shield surfing scene"! Can anyone describe it or find me a website with a trailer or vide clip of it? Thanks!

It's in most of the trailers. It's when he's sorta sliding down the stairs, shooting some orcs. Your best bet is here.

You can just go to [URL=http://www.apple.com/trailers] and find the TTT Trailer. I'm pretty sure it's in that one

Well, for a description, I'd be happy to provide one.
The 'Sheild Surfing' scene happened during the Battle of Helm's Deep, of course. Legolas was fighting and instead of running down the stairs to get to the lower part of the battle, he grabbed a shield and 'surfed' down the staircase. It was very cool.

When he got to the bottom, he flipped his feet so the shield went through the neck of an Orc and killed it. That was very cool.

Shield

ooops... I think I took a wrong turn! I thought this was gonna be pages and pages of people complaining about the "shield surfing" thing. Nice seeing it written like that - now whenever I see the battle I'll have the Beach Boys' Shield Surfin' USA in my head! I didn't spot the shield killing an Orc - COOL! It takes a lot to beat Legolas' moves in FOTR, though - stabbing an Orc with his arrow, then firing it at the next one! *drooollll*

Yeah, I just caught the shield in the orc the last time I saw it. Legolas is the elf. If you wanted more description, Elestirne, I think it happens right after the wall is breached (which was spectacular!) Gimli jumps down the help Aragorn, and shortly after that comes the famous shield surfing. Go Legolas

I liked the shield surfing, especially because it woke up alot of the slack jawed yokels in the audience who weren't really following what was going on.

quote:
It takes a lot to beat Legolas' moves in FOTR, though - stabbing an Orc with his arrow, then firing it at the next one!

True, Legolas has some rockin' moves in this one, I think the coolest ever is his mouting the horse from underneath and sideways! Hello! That got people's attention in the theatre. (My audiences have been DEAD the first 2 times I saw it... about which I might start a new thread!)

Not spectacular? It was awesome. Oh well, to each his own. Do you have something against elves?

I thought the Shield Surfing was cool, but it kind of broke the pace of the battle.
The battle was going at a nice speed and they kind of slowed it down for something that was not really needed.

All im wondering is how Legolas can keep his foothold on a damp, slippy shield while shaking rapidly as he is going down stone steps! Anyway, my friends were like "Oh wow it was soooo cool!" so i expected good: and it was!
