I second the nomination for Firefoot's "Here at the end of all things". That's lovely, and one of my favourite parts of the book.

Thanks muchly to all of you who have said they liked mine (namely Evisse, Nuru, and Orual)! It is greatly appreciated.
Fea, I do like yours, and it was actually this thread that brought it to my attention. |

As much as I enjoy all those fancyful, witty "locations" I personally would prefer to see where people really are from! As Esty pointed out, it's fun to see that there are Barrowdowners from nearly all over the world.

Orual's, because every time someone just beat me in an argument & I know I have no come-back (), I pull out a little slip of paper with the words 'Montreuil-sur-Mer' on it, & ask them to pronounce it. Then I walk away triumphantly .
p.s. although I don't really do that, that's not such a bad idea... |

Regarding Real Locations
My location is my real location, isn't that terrible? It's not what the university officials are calling it certinally, but it's the truth.
Encaitare, "On the grass with all the other lunatics" You wouldn't happen to be a kindred Pink Floyd fan are you? Because I wasn't sure there was any more room upon the hill for us! (I apologize to all non Floyd fans for the shamelesly confusing quotage.) ~Pyro~

Anyway, to stay on topic, thanks to everyone who said that they enjoyed my signature. I've changed it a lot over these two years, but I'm sticking with this one for a while, I think. I really like Nuru's, because it seems like a nice place to be. -Aylwen

Pyro and Aylwen -- Yup, I am indeed a Pink Floyd fan, and my location is, of course, a reference to "Brain Damage." I went to the hill first but it was full, no room whatsoever, so I decided the grass would have to do.
The great thing about that song is that when singing it, one is obliged to pronouce the word "grass" as it is in the song: "Grahss." No Americanized grass for me! And I'm a she, by the way. |

Of Pink Floyd and the return of Sauron
Encaitare, I took it from both your truly excellent location and your signature that you are a fan of the Pink Floyd! w00t!
Shine on you crazy diamond. Pyroclastic, how very scary! I won’t make any sill jokes like "Do you learn how to be a good little orc". We al know that Orcs are evil.... This reminds me, there is a restaurant called “Morgul tandori” on my way to school... Is Sauron returning?

Actually Hookbill, the Mordor University thing is more in reference to my fellow students. There have been times when I truly felt as Frodo and Sam must have, scurring throught the brambles in avoidence of orcs. Some of my lab partners have been bona-fied Uruk-Hai! There are days when I just sort of slink across campus, hoping not to be attacked; and then there are days when I march in with my (figuative, alas) sword drawn, ala Aragorn. I believe today is going to be an Aragorn day, w00t w00t!

hmm, now why doesn't that surprise me?
I suppose it could mean that, it could mean a lot of things... But it's actually a line from Phantom of the opera. Sorry to start an OT post again, but Estel, come on...was it that bad??? I refuse to believe it was.

*giggles* Why thank you, Evisse! I noticed that it gets a bit dragging because of the length, but that's really my location...in my dreams. As for the person behind the *sheepish grin*, that cannot be revealed due to reasons better left unexplained. I'd like to make those who read it guess instead and maintain the aura of mystery. Or maybe not. I'm not really sure.

Just chiming in to say that I love yours, Firefoot ..."the end of all things", what a beautiful moment!
I also like yours, Son of Númenor ! Very creative, and also slightly sad at the same time.

To answer the phantom's question...me.
And I like Elennar's location, though I struggle to find a meaning behind it. Sorrow's paradise, what is it all about? I'll tell you what my magic sig meant.

I did make the point on the signature thread that a lot of people put song lyrics for their sig. It appears that quite a few do it for their locations too!
And just so there's no confusion, were we talking about Maroon 5 just there? Because if we were then I stand by what I said. And I'll send another of these right back at you phantom!
