Violin, eh? Cool. I fiddle betimes.

You can get the first page of each tune for free. There's a site that lets you see one page, and then you have to buy the rest of the pages. I found it a long time ago. Check out the thread The Most Tolkien Oriented Music You Make , toward the end of the thread.

There are tabs out there-- do you play guitar too?

I went to musicnotes and couldn't get those first pages to come up, but they say you're still supposed to be able to. Might be funny settings on my machine. Try it & let me know if you have any luck.

Thanks. The site you're talking about is 8Notes or something like that. I've just started playing violin, and I play trumpet and piano, but I don't play guitar. Any more sites and info and stuff like that will really help. Thanks!

Thanks for that information. I play the flute. My sister has two books of LotR music and I 'borrowed' them the other day. I'm trying to learn the one Concerning Hobbits....

Encaitare is a guest of Tom Bombadil.
Regin, what are the books called, and did she get them at a regular music store or online? I'm a flautist as well, and I'd love to get my hands on some LotR sheet music.

1420!

I'm not Regin, but I do have the sheet music, which I got at a regular music store. It's originally for piano and vocals, with guitar chords as well, but I play it on the violin, and I'm sure you could use it for flute.

I bought all three books at Amazon. I like them; they even have the elvish lyrics (and Old English) for those vocals that sound so pretty but you can't quite catch the words.
