Gollum the Great has just left Hobbiton.
Silmaril What if???

Simple. Only ask q's on what would have happened if such-and-such a circumstance had been different, as long the asker is sure of his own answer, whether from Tolkien's own words or work, or from reason.

To begin,

Had Morgoth never entered Middle Earth after its creation, would evil ever had existed in Middle Earth?

An interesting question, I just think that it's too much of a philisophical question to become a game, but if you post this in the book thread I'll be happy to put my two cents in!

Exactly Groin, there is no exact answer. It depends on what is meant by evil, and also in some areas on how canon certain books are (for example, is Ungoliant of the nature described in BoLT?)

Of course it would have. To me, there is no such thing, in this world or another, that is completely without evil of some kind. Even had Morgoth not entered Middle Earth, a different sort of evil would have found its way there eventually.
