I know the feeling. Anyways, the sword is Ringil, and by what it means, I don't quite follow. I know it was his glittering sword, but that's it. Also, the horse is Rochallor

Oropher was slain in the Battle of Dagorlad, and as to "why", I'm not exactly sure what you mean, but he went to battle because he "forsaw that peace would not return unless Sauron was overcome. He therefore assembled a great army..." Also they were ill-equipped in weapons and armor.

The downfall of Lothlorien? I'm not sure, but I'll say Galadriel passing over the Sea and Celeborn going to live in Rivendell, so the numbers of the people there dwindled and eventually no one lived there (as we saw in the Tale of Arwen and Aragorn).

Because he forced them to do so through intimidation, since they were corrupted Elves in the beginning and they were forced to serve him even though they hated him deep down. Also because he offered them some degree of pleasure through violence and killing.
