Raefindel, I also am a redhead, and that is why I picked my beautiful, redheaded fairy.

I drew mine too. The original's been thrown away, but there is a big ol' reproduction on my bathroom door! The best avatars are ones that you make and host yourself. GUESS WHO THAT PRECLUDES, ONEWHITETREE.

But yours isn't like your forum personality at all, burrahobbit. You're no shiny sun. MINE, however, could hardly be more like me.

Raefindel is changing her avatar? Oh, I thought that day would never come! No, really, I can't wait Rae.
Oooh, Arwen Baggins, nice one of the Elvish numbers! I'll give a vote for that one. Oh yeah, and Carlas, very nice. Big green boxes appeal to me very much. [ February 18, 2003: Message edited by: Eruwen ] |

It must be my turn to vote. I seem to like pictures of ladies. Here are my favorites:
Liriodendron's lady in a cloche hat Nimrodel's Lady with lights around her Birdland's Is that an actress? She's great! LadyElbereth's Lady in green

Thank you Rae! Lot's of people don't detect the cloche hat! They think I have blonde hair "like my avatar"! Of course, I'm very brunette! I like the "London Calling" album cover. It reminds me of the old days! A Roxy music cover (Siren maybe) would make a cool avatar!

I think now I'll make my real votes (you may disregard that earlier, silly post!)
~ Estelyn's Princess Fiona picture. Even though I've seen her real pic on Alk's page, I still picture her as Fiona. If you ever change it, Esty, I don't know what I'll do! ~ Beren87's blue wizard. I love that wand. ~ Lush's old stone face avatar. It looked Fair and Cold, how perfect! ~ Lush's new rose avatar. It looks lush, how perfect! ~ LePetitChuox's various Gromit avatars, especially when coupled with the Penguin sig. Though that head of cabbage is quite fitting. ~ Rimbaud's old dancing frog avatar. ~ HerenIstaion's firework avatar (I think he changed it, I'm not sure...) ~ Raefindel's swordmaiden. ~ Kalimac's candles. Why of course, I did find it for her. It goes with her PT so well. ~ My old Dancing Daffy avatar. I'm not saying it was a "best", but I was very attached to it. It was a very strange mood that led to me change it, but I've still got it on my desktop. I'm sure I'm forgetting other favorites, and my apologies to you! I always enjoy seeing other's avatars, as I think one says a great deal about the person sporting it.

I did change my avatar, just now, but I'm keeping Fiona, of course. Perhaps some posters think I should be using a picture of her as an ogre???

Cool thread - I never realised that HI's avatar was fireworks. Now I can't look at it without thinking of the sound of fireworks exploding - COOL.
Best avatar is a freaking hard choice. Great new ones from Piles of Boneseses pop up all the time. My recent favourite is Phrim's guy with the staff - he just looks so staunch! Any like that which aren't simply squares surely must count for more. Where did the term avatar for the pictures come from? I thought an avatar was a mortal embodiment of a god?? By the way, my avatar OWNS cuteness. Whether that's a good thing or not is another matter! I started out with the Kid A album cover, but when no Radiohead fans came out of the woodwork I gave up. Damn you all! Whoa! A preview button?!

Carlas, I love it! Says so much but saying so little! very poetic. Rosseiliantiel, what exactly is yours? It intrigues me... Diamond18, I want Daffy Duck back! I loved that avatar.

Thanks for your vote, Rae. It's The Fool from the Rider-Waite Tarot deck. (no, I don't do Tarot, but my friend does.)
Regarding your Black Hole Sun, Burra. I saw a piece of jewelry being pitched on some healthcare website. You were supposed to wear it in support of some disease of the week. Anyway, the pin was a dead-ringer for your sun, except for the smiley face. You should be getting royalties. |

Estelyn Telcontar your new avatar is beautiful, it looks even more wonderful than your original one, I am glad you kept Fiona. You should not do one of her as an ogre (even though she makes a very wonderful ogre), I just would not think of you the same.

I'm not sure, I think I prefer what you already have.
As for best avatars, I've always liked Diamond18's Daffy Duck, and Lush's avatar is indeed very 'fair and cold'. And Agent Elrond makes me laugh

Wow! This thread gets pretty confusing when the Avatars keep changing.
Personally, I like animated Avatars, and I especially like Coral's and Alkanoonian's. Very creepy. Also, Carlas' psychadelic dragon. Oh, and I do like your new one, doug. Very appropriate. [ February 19, 2003: Message edited by: The Saucepan Man ]

my avatar is a forest-spirit-type person, on closer inspection she seems to be a statue with a blue glow and blowing leaves surrounding it. Rather irrelevant, but I likes it.

The URL on Rosseiliantiel's pic says it's a tree nymph. It looks cool when you pull it up in its own window, then you can see it clearer.
Mm-hm...Did I mention that I really liked Rim's old frog avatars? *cough*
