Hi I havent been back here in ages school started again for me so I had to study for my school certificate and all but now I can finally post again.
Anyway you know your obsessed when you go shopping for formal dresses and you spend about 4 hours refusing to buy every dress your sisters hand you cause they havent got an elvish look. And when you start jumping up and down while shrieking for joy because you found really cool ring and bracelet set that looks very elvish. When you have a casual teacher and she spends the lesson giving you strange looks because you spend the whole lesson speaking elvish to your friend (WHO DOESN'T LIKE MIDDLE EARTH) I might add. Oh my English teacher really likes lord of the rings and she has these really cool pictures like the ones in the books on the walls with some lines form the books and everything...Anyway we had a compertion one time and I won she was going to give the winner a prise so I asked her if I could have the pictures on the wall and she said no. Ok this only about my third post, so i'm new here!
~*~*~*~*~*~ 1) When at your school, and they have a poster of the fellowship in your library, and eveytime you pass you have to stop and stare at it until your freind drags you off to class.... [img]smilies/frown.gif[/img] 2) When at the movie theature watching PoTC you overhear some people talking about LoTR, and they get Frodo and Sam mixed up, and you immediatily (sp?) correct them, and give them a lecture about the diffrences between the two! 3) When on your Christmas list 99% of the things have something to do with LoTR (I wonder if my parents would get me a sword.... [img]smilies/evil.gif[/img] ) 4) Your freinds don't have to ask you what movie you want to watch when they come over they already know TTT! and.... 5) You have decided that elvish should be avalible as second language during high school. When you spend hours and hours on end every day on the computer looking up LotR things to read.
When you have about 100 LotR pictures downloaded on your computer. When you spend every minute you can with your LotR obsessed friends, Arguing over who is better, Legolas or Aragorn. When your other non obsessed LotR friends avoid you when they see your LotR book in hand. When your non obsessed LotR friends (even with no book in hand) try and avoid even mentioning LotR because they know they will get at least a twenty minute talk on your latest findings. When you admit you are obsessed and veryone you know will agree with you.l

It's back! The wonderful thread is back! Anyway:
You know you're obsessed when.... You're bored, so you make little Nazgul out of bright blue silly putty. The happiest day since the 17th of December was when you convinced your best friend to read LotR. She has now become almost as obsessed as you, and routinely writes, "Go kiss an orc! Bob2 has spoken!" On post-its and sticking them to people. (Bob2 is the name of her calculator- don't ask.) All of your folder and binders for all of your classes have the hymn to Elbereth sung in Elrond's house in FotR written on them- in the Tengwar. Your science one also has your entire Sindarin vocabulary written on it. When bored in Social Studies class, you write random sentances in Sindarin, in the Tengwar on bits of paper. They're all very strange. One was, "The tower is golden-brown." In school, you carry around: FotR, RotK, the Silmarillion, and the Languages of Tolkien's Middle-earth (Even though it's out of date.) You would also have TTT, was it not missing.

when nobody understands what you are saying.
i have this problem quite regularly. Someone asked me if I liked swords and i launched into a big long explanation about how 'yes i did like swords, but I preferred bows and arrows because i thought they looked more elegant. I am however, in awe of people wh ocan use a sword with skill'. Etc, i finished off with how if i had a sword i would name it Ringil, after Fingolfin's sword which glittered like ice. The only problem was that the person thought i was crazy and had never read LOTR, let alone The Silm. and had no idea who Fingolfin or Ringil were. Shame on them.

You go all the way to Spain for two weeks and your favorite soveneir that you purchased is a Lord of the Rings poster. I love my poster. It has these really creepy eyes at the top that are sometimes seen and sometimes not. It's hanging in my room so that when laying in my bed I can see it's reflextion in my mirror. Those eyes have really freaked me out on some mornings when I wake up.

1) Galadriel - large, silvery fishie 2) Arwen/ Celeborn - havn't decided yet. small silvery fishie. 3) Merry and Pippin - two small goldfish 4) Shelob - large catfish; always lurking at the bottom. 5) Gollum and Smeagol OR Frodo and Sam - havn't decided yet. two very large goldfish in their own tank. P.S. These fish arn't even mine...Oops!

hmmm...
When for your GCSE music composition you set some of the songs from LOtR to music for lute, flute and tabor, actually trying to do research into the type of music that elves would have (that was too hard and I gave up) And then, despite getting a rubbish mark for that composition, for your AS level one you do a Led Zeppelin style song called Mithrandir about Gandalf. (it was supposed to sound like The Battle of Evermore but it ended up being rubbish), and get just as bad a mark for that. Anyone? No? Guess that was just me then...
