I tip my hat to THE Ka for a quote from W.B. Yeats' Fairy and Folk Tales of the Irish Peasantry. Mr. Yeats has always been one of my favorite poets (particularly The Stolen Child), and I cherish the above-mentioned book.

Jack Madden! Jack Madden! Yours words came so bad in, the tune we felt glad in; - This castle you're had in, that your life we may sadden; Here's two humps for Jack Madden!

Will that be one hump or two?

Haha, thank you. I also considered using this:

Really, it's great to fun to read my first game (WWJI). Everybody's saying that I'm so quiet or hiding and that's even true - I remember that I missed whole Day1 and failed to vote on Day2 because I messed up the deadline... (Not to mention voting someone an experienced player recommended me to vote, suggesting Fea was the cobbler when the cobbler had already been lynched and being quite silly in other ways too - but I enjoyed it, obviously.)

And I just noticed your sig, Rune:

Quote:
"Why would an innocent villager want to vote someone who's just not so active? Shouldn't suspected werewolves be the priority?" - Thinlomien in WWJI . . . . . How the world has changed.
I laughed at that quote too.

You're welcome I "discovered" him already some time ago, mainly after one of our lecturers devoted several hours to talking about him. And I must say now I would have had a hard time choosing, because I could have chosen lots of other possible quotes from him (and only about similar topic there would be a lot to choose from). Also, I had to make the quote short enough to fit the sig, yet at the same time conveying at least well enough the central message.

I have that same unfortunate problem with Vaclav Havel's words of wisdom... So brilliant, but too much for the Downs' sig limit most of the time.

I can't remember exactly where I came across Wiesel, but I believe it was after reading Władysław Szpilman's memoir. I loved reading it so much, especially the diary samples attached. There are too many reasons why, but I believe it is just his perspective and how he didn't try to politize his work or music, and instead just simply wrote what he remembered.

Anyways, its nice seeing your sig around, thanks again.

A clever play on words, Gollum the Great. I love the song of Durin's Folk, probably the best in all the books!

Agreed. Although, this alteration makes me picture Gollum sat alone playing chess against himself.

You guys like it? (Well, so do I!)
I rewrote that whole song once, and it was pretty well received by my audience, save I didn't feature Gollum. I enjoy altering Tolkien's amazing poems.

No worries. I don't get anything from it. Such a thing can be said anytime and not be true... and then, I would have expected that happening anyway, only I don't know when, so as long as you don't give away that information, no problem.

I spent the last semester of school studying WWII. Many coming months of my life will be pretty heavily involved with research and papers regarding WWII and Nazi Germany. And yet it took Groin Redbeard's signature to remind me yesterday was D-Day.

Well, I love Nilp's sig in general, but I was looking over the WW Day and actually paid attention to everyone's for once (I was bored). Not only is it awesome by itself, but the "random" (heh, random my eye) bolded letters made it even better. Maybe I'm just a dork, but anything with subtext/code/any other form of snazzification is okay by me. Kudos, Nilp dear!

Oh, it was a fad, hidden messages in sigs, once upon a time . . .

Dork. Loser.

At least I don't have maternal issues, Adam.

But it is kind of funny. . .because if there where any day that we are constantly reminded of it is D-Day.

How many movies have not been made about D-Day or atleast have some focus on it? Iit is totaly out of porportion to the importance it had to the war. . . . Of course it depend on who you ask.

10,264 allied soldiers were killed! The invasion gave the allies a foothold into northern europe! What the heck do you mean it's not important?! The only movie I remember that was made about it was 'The Longest Day,' if anything the whole weight of the it is lost to our generation!

Sorry if I caused a chat skewrl.
