First of all, my jaw would drop to the ground...

Second of all, if this Hobbit happened to be either Frodo or Sam (especially Sam) I'd probably give them a hug and a kiss on the cheek.

If this Hobbit happened to be Merry, Pippin, or Bilbo I'd probably just give them a hug. And of course I'd invite them into my house, no matter WHICH Hobbit it happens to be!

LOL! Me, too. I would also apologize for the poor shape of my garden and ask for tips.

I would scream and run around, because it would be veeeeeeeeery scary. Other then that, i'd say "Hullo " and ask them in for tea.

I would dress up in black robes and open the door. Then the hobbits will run away. Then I will run after them and yell, "WAIT! YOU FORGOT YOUR PIPE!"

What would I do? I have no idea, I'm pretty unpredicable. Probably jump up and down happily, or end up feeling weird like I do when I'm excited.

I'd ask them if they wanted dinner and invite them in.

Then I'd start pinching myself very hard to see if I was dreaming.

I would probably be speechless except for a few squeaks here and there. But of course I would let them in, then invite all my friends over to see him and to make sure I'm not dreaming.

I'd probably jump up and down screaming, then end up falling down. Then I'd most likely hit my head and end up with a concusion and not get to say anything to the hobbits at all. Then they would just go somewhere else and find someone that can stand up perfectly normal and talk to them... sadly, instead of me....
Boy, that was depressing....

Do you mean one of the actors or an actuall hobbit? Because if it was Elijah Wood I would probably faint dead away. Or I would just stand there looking dumb.

If a hobbit came to the door? I'd probably stand there blinking for a couple minutes, then ask them to come inside... then probably offer tea...whatever kind of tea I was drinking at the moment (I'm always drinking tea ), then maybe something to eat. Then I'd probably get around to asking them why the heck they were at my door.

And welcome to the Downs, Taryávëwen! Have fun, post often.

Okay. If a Hobbit came to my door I'd probably have to squeeze their cheeks!!! I dunno why I just would! If Elijah Wood or one of the other actors came to my door I'd probably hyperventilate and then over-compensate for my embarrassment by laughing to loud and making non-stop jokes that aren't funny!!! Hmmm, very interesting. I would probebly ask them first, if they really were soandso. THen I would invite them in, I would probebly just try and stay calm. I would too, ask them what the pie they wanted.

Of corse, I would only be able to do this if I didn't faint first.

Wow. I think I'd probably do something surprisingly stupid like pinch their little ears to make sure they were real hobbits and not mean little children coming to destroy my sanity.

If a hobbit came to my door I'd start saying "Haha, I was right, hobbits DO exsist!" and give him a huge hug. Then I'd see that I must seem crazy to him, so to keep him from running away, I'd invite him inside for something to eat. Then he could eat whatever he wanted while we discusssed many of things about Middle-earth. When it came time for him to leave hopefully he'd let me come with him.
If only...

The Script:

Knock knock!
Rachel goes and opens the door, and sees a hobbit there.
Rachel: *Jaw drops, and she stands there, dumbfounded for a few seconds, then manages to say a bit* Uh-uh...y-y-you're...are y-y-you...? Are you?
Hobbit: Yes?
Rachel: Y-y-you are a hobbit!
Hobbit: Yes...can I come in?
Rachel: *Finally recovers.* Oh...okay would you like to come in? Tea? Muffins? Cheese? You know, I knew that you guys had to exist!
Rachel shows the hobbit in and they have some tea and food, and Rachel makes the Hobbit tell Rachel all about Shire news. After they are all done and Rachel has cleared the table...
Rachel: So...if one were to, say, want to come to the Shire, how would one get there?
If the hobbit could tell her, he would, and she would, when she was old enough to drive, go to a barn, get a horse (I ride), and ride to the Shire, and visit everyone. Then, maybe I'll wander over to Lorien and Mirkwood and Rivendell. Then, maybe I'd try to sail over the sea to find everyone that went!
THE END

i would clear my throat and say, "friends, hobbits, countrymen, lend me your ears. men have overstayed their boundaries in the world, and WE MUST ACT NOW! rally the troops and all that rot!" then i'd say, "naw, you've had enough of that. d'you like a Pepsi?" another good question is: what would you do if a nazgul came to your door? i'd think "this would be pretty cool if they weren't primarily hired out as assasins." hobbits at my door?? hmm... well I would probably give them a long blank stare..then I would shower them with hobbit huggles and probably squeeze the bajeebers out of them, then I would smile and casually ask them in for second breakfast as if nothing had happened. We would talk about various things, and I would say how short and adorable hobbits are...Then I would ask them what in the name of the shire a hobbit is doing in a place like this, and probably toss in this plea, while on my knees groveling: "please take me with you!!! I live in a cruel world!! take me with you a beg of you!!!!"
now if the actors show up, I would probably do the same thing...except beg them to take me to New Zealand with them..
either way I would be looking a bit desperate, but who cares?!?

If a....
Nazgul came to my door: I'd say...Those robes are sooooo last year, mate. Doesn't this Sauron guy pay you properly....I mean, they look like my nan's old curtains.
Then I would run like the blazes....
Hobbit: I'd say: Heya...you want some tea? Then I'd be really cool....depending on what hobbit it was, if it was Sam I'd have to ask for some gardening tips. If it was Frodo I'd kick him down the hill....I hate frodo.
Elf: Wheeee! Well, I'd gasp, then collect myself and say 'Heya mate. You look hot...want a drink?' Then I'd give them a drink and beg them to take me to whereever they were going.
Any of the actors: Blimey....I think I'd say summat like...You wanna drink? Then I'd find out all about LOTR...then they'd invite me to star in a re-make of LOTR, where Merry's sibling comes along too....and I'd say 'Yeah, well...I'm a bit busy right now, but I'll ask my mum...' then I'd film it, and end up starring alongside Rupert Grint, and Britney, and live the movie star life happily ever after...sigh.
