Yeah, there have been a couple revivals. But originals are almost always the best.
InklingElf's Woodstock is very nice. I also am very fond of Lush's rose.

Wow, I've just noticed so many great new avatars! In particular, Oddwen's feather is gorgeous, and Finwe-89 has picked a great shot of Legolas.
I might have to reconsider my cartoon tree-hugger.

It is back! I'm so used to it that I did not notice that it was changed from something else!
Thanks, Carnimírië, for pointing it out!

My sister saw the avatar and went, "What's that supposed to be? Johnny Appleseed?"

Hmm, somone else said the very same thing a while back. As I had never even heard of the chap previously, any resemblance is entirely coincidental.

Ha, I remember the Johnny Appleseed go-around. I thought that was funny - because I'd recognized him the first time I saw it. The fact that you didn't know who he was just made it funnier.

Enca's avie squeezes a chortle or two out of me: "Real elves wear corsets."
And while it is nice to see ole Saucey's old avie back, I notice that Rimbaud--speaking of oldies--is still avie-less. Or has he succumbed to the lure of the ring and is it now cloaked?

I am feeling slightly bewildered nowadays, seeing as how I am unable to change my avatar. I am getting flashbacks of the horror days when I couldn't figure out how to get one. It's from the exact same site as my current one.
So if I disappear in a couple of days you'll know it's because I've gone insane.

This is uncanny... I added that last line my sig - for other reasons (Russian champion figure skater claiming European title back) - before I saw Sauce changed his avatar and before I checked out this thread! See, people, See? the strange coincidences of life? Anyway, what more can I say - the world is truly and completely back to normal.

I would also like to nominate Nurumaiel's. So celticy.
And I like Meela's for the sole fact that it reminds me of the Corpse Bride.

Meela, your new avatar is awesome! What is it? It makes me think of Tim Burton.
And Immy's avatars are always so classy. This one is no exception.

It's the Corpse Bride, from Tim Burton's coming-soon movie. I found an image of her but had to scale it down to fit, but it cut a corner off the image instead.

Oh! Ergo Immy's comment about the Corpse Bride. For some reason I thought there was a Corpse Bride in The Nightmare Before Christmas. Either way, though, it's a very cool avatar.

Why...yes...as a matter of fact I was. I always pictured you in top hat and gloves.
Or perhaps a nice laurel wreath, like the one you see adorning my rocky head at the moment.
