Alright! Spawn of Ungoliant, Beware! *gets stepped on by over-large arachnid*

Anyway, I like the idea of lighting the forest on fire to mark the path. Could that possibly draw the Spiders to us?

Lighting the forest on fire? Oh fun, fun!! Yay!

Haha, I've put up a Save, to be filled out soon.

Imladris, I know this isn't really my place, but if your pm to Gird is about his not posting, well, I know him in real life and he doesn't have much time on the computer right now...

Oh no, no! When I said blaze I meant like marking the trees with hatchets to mark their path. I don't think the elves or the trees would be too happy if they set fire to the forest... *cough*

However , I do like the fire idea. We'll just have it be a bon fire that was meant to keep the spiders and such away...or something like that.

Melisil , thanks for telling me about Gird...could you carry his character for him? And thank you for telling me where he'd gone to...

Cheers all!

I've filled in my save now, haha! I was having all sorts of fun making up names for elfs.. I wonder how many more I could think up... *evil grin*

EDIT: ooh! 111 posts, that's awesome!

Yes. Also, anybody else can use him as well as long as it is within his character. .

Forgive me for my lack of posting. Things have become a tad busy. Hopefully tomorrow.

Hello!

Pyro and Carlas, my post is finally up. There seem to be a bit annoyance among these filthy Orcs. I suggest that the next poster will clear it all out by announcing which Orc is going to kill the Chief.. But it's up to you...

Oh..and if you want me to change anything, just let me know, either on PM or here.

Cheers,

Wait...wait...wait. I have just discovered an inconsistency here. Aman, aren't the dwarves supposed to be on the elf path that goes past the elven-king's halls? Or was Balin stupid enough to just think he could go straight through it?

Just checking in here with the players and owners:

This game was started on January 19th and was scheduled to run 14 weeks.

Halfway point for the game should have been around March 8th.

End date for the game is Monday, April 26th.

I fired off a PM to Aman earlier today, but she wasn't on at her normal time. I know she has been extremely busy lately so I'm not sure when she will next be on, which is why I'm making a call.

As Pio has so kindly told us, we passed our half way point a long time ago, and, going the way we're going, I don't think that we'll be able to finish on time. So, I have come up with a plan. Tonight, I will do a forwarding post that will bring us to the gates of Moria in diary form . This diary will tell how we got lost, how Thorgorleb and Linsie rescued some dwarves from the spider, and how Thorgorleb led them out. In FotR, Tolkien tells us that the journal they found had been written in many different hands, so if you would like to contribute a journal entry, please post it on the Discussion Thread and I will paste it before Ori's entry. I will not be waiting for all the entries to come in as we don't have time for that.

I will make the forwarding post tonight.

I know this is extremely hasty, but we only have about four weeks to complete this game.

Cheers,
Imladris

Imladris, as you might know, Nali is keeping a journal of prose and poetry and will add to the forwarding post! Sounds like a good idea to forward the game. I'll put a post on the thread in a couple of days and u can paste it in!

I have done the forwarding post but I would like to comment on a few things first.

1. If you want to know why Ori used the Sindarin days of the week, it's because he wrote in an elvish script. If that's a problem to anyone I'll change it.

2. Let me know if I used anyone's characters ill.

3. I just said that three dwarves were captured by the spiders. Please tell me if you would like your character to be captured.

4. Please, please, please, everybody continue posting. You're all doing a splendid job, but I would like to keep the game rolling!

Cheers!

How will this 'bump' forward effect the orcs? Should we continue on with the meeting but maybe speed it up a bit?

Yes...I think the meeting could be wrapped up in one post or so. After that maybe an orc could spy the camping dwarves or something like that...

Or, you could do what I did and just have one of the orcs remember it, grumble about it, whatever sounds good to you.

Cheers,
Imladris

PS. I'm really really really sorry about this....

Ssooooo... What's next, in dwarvish terms? Should all dwarves be doing journal entries from now on?

Okay. This is what is going to happen next (I guess I wasn't too clear on that, was I)? As soon as the orcs are finished with their meeting, they are going to spy the camping dwarves. Then we shall make our way into the mines, battle ensues...one of the dwarves dies (I think it's Floi...but I'm not sure...)

The thing about the journal entry was optional. The journal entry was a spur of the moment descision to get the dwarves out of Mirkwood. If you wanted to contribute about what your character did or thought during the time in Mirkwood, then construct a journal entry and then I shall put it in the appropriate spot.

Is everything clear?

Cheers,
Imladris

Thank you, Imladris However, I have a wee bit of bad news...

I will be away in Cornwall for eight days starting on Saturday. I will have some internet access but not as much as usual, and so may not be able to post as much. I appreciate that I have been a little rubbish recently due to various RL commitments, and I apologise: however, it is now the Easter holidays and I will be able to contribute more, hopefully, as this game comes to its end, with the exception of my eight days away.

It's okay, Carlas. I understand that things have a nasty habit of coming up and ruining our best layed plans.

Okay, Dwarves. I have done yet another forwarding post to keep the game moving (we only have 26 days! . They are now being attacked by orcses.

Nil Felagund This is where Floi dies. This is what it says in FotR:

Floi was killed by an arrow. He slew the great. The rest of the sentence was blurred out, so have fun with what he killed.

Orcs : I hope that I have not disrupted any of your plans. If I have let me know and we'll figure something out.

Leep the posts rolling!

Cheers,
Imladris

Nothing that we can't work around. Here's an idea:

Since most of the orcs are at the meeting, you guys will probably be attacked by smaller groups of orcs that were keeping watch at certain points in Moria. Pyro should be posting something soon about him spotting the dwarves, and me and Oro will try and kill the chief as fast as we can. Until the rest of the orcs get news of your arrival, you will probably only be attacked by small groups of orcs. Feel free to be attacked whenever you feel!

Does that work for everyone?

Eye Coming Soon! Ok, Now It's Here!

At this moment I'm typing up my next post. Uzgash will get fed up and decide to leave Moria. He'll then stumble upon the Dwarves and threir attack...you get the picture. Should be up by this evening.
~Pyro~

Later

Ok, my post is up. It wound up being more than a tad shorter than I expected. Why? I was reading The Fellowship, and discovered that Floi will slay The Great (lines blurred). This strikes me as important. Is Uzgash the great whatever? What's going on?

Anyway, as the fighting continues, I will make some more short posts of the battle form Uzgash's position. I have no problems with Uzgash becoming "The Great Whatever" if such is needed. Let me know. Or, we could allways have Grog the troll escape after nightfall. That might be fun and interesting. Grog certinly qualifies as great in my book.

Onward Ho! ~Pyro~

Silmaril Speaking of death...

Who is suppost to die at this battle the dwarves are having right now? I know my character, Nali, dies at the Second Hall. So, is this the time we we'll start to lose our own, or will it be a while?

The only one who dies now at the outset is Floi. The other dwarves get to live for another five years until they too meet their doom.

Great posting you guys!!! Thanks for making the game proceed. I would like this fight wrapped up by Monday. Should give plenty of time for excitement. *evil Calvin grin*

Cheers,
Imladris

Okay. Is it okay with everybody if I end the fight by Monday? If you don't want it ended, just say so or forever hold your peace.

Cheers,
Imladris
