Not to spoil the fun, but this topic is getting very chatty. Let's try to limit that, please. Thanks.

I love Beren's avatar.
Reminds me of Pink Floyd (Dark Side of the Moon). Then again, maybe it is supposed to. I'll decide not to go out on a limb then, because it might have nothing to do with Pink Floyd. In any case, I like Beren's avatar. And I think that the Saucepan Man's avatar is kind of creepy...then at first glance it looked so spooky that I never really wanted to get a good look at it. -Aylwen

I like Sapphire_Flame's avatar. The mystery and excitement contained within one picture and two words. "Not again!" It makes me laugh all the time.

I think I'm actually beginning to like saucepan mans's new avatar. at first glance it seemed quite shocking! a green creature with big eyes in the place of our beloved saucepan man! but then I realized that it was Abe himself, and saw how adorable he was.

I think Son of Numenor's is probably the best one I've ever seen. With the possible exception of my old Andrew WK pic....
Music is excellent.

I just stumbled upon a post by Luinalatawen , and her avatar is gorgeous. Yay for Brian Froud! I've got a t-shirt with the full image on it, very pretty. I was incredibly pleased with myself when I realized even my shirt was vaguely LotR-related... Brian Froud co-wrote and co-illustrated the book "Faeries" with Alan Lee, who of course did conceptual art for the movies. How delightful!

Nothing goes unnoticed here
What you've seen for three minutes of hesitation was a High Ordinator, taken from the best PC RPG ever - Elder Scrolls III, Morrowind. Just being [re]playing it, waiting for the Elder Scrolls IV, Oblivion. But look closely - it's Fireworks again

Actually, "medieval" is about as good a word as any.
It is the head of Emperor Justinian from the mosaic in San Vitale in Ravenna, Italy. Here is the full version.

Nice. Is it self-drawed? (I suppose it's Trogdor still, right?)

I think its Trogdor as a Dragon man!!
That’s the best one bar Trogdor as just a Dragon! Keep up the Trogdor avatars Gil!

I'll say, Imladris has a nice avatar. Well, perhaps nice does not describe it well. Ultimately cool comes close though.

The Saucepan Man's new avatar is upsetting my equilibrium.
No one's mentioned Maedhros's avatar. It's very cool I think. And then of course there's someone crazy enough to have a Shelob avatar... |

Well Shelob's avtaar weill be kind of super creepy or something like that
Gil-Galad's new avtaar is kind of cartoonish and simple ( if you know what I mean).

Hmmm, Imladris used to have Snape, it's too bad she let him go...
I've began to take a liking to Saucy's Abe avatar too! It' (him?) is really very cute! You know, I was thinking, there are some Downers, like Estelyn Telcontar and Guinevere who never changed their avatars (correct me if I'm wrong). Well, but if I had such cool avatars as theirs, I probably wouldn't myself...They're the ones that I really see as their avatars; and even if their looks don't fit it, I'm sure their personalities do, they're both such classy ladies.

I've hardly been here since I started the thread, but you know whose I like a lot? HerenIstarion's. There's really something to be said for the classics.
In newer avatars, I hadn't seen elfearz1's avatar before, but I like it: it's quite fitting. Aylwen's is lovely, and I always look forward to seeing what Imladris has up.

Recently, I have taken a liking to Novnarwen's duck.
A (long) while ago Mariska said she used to think my avatar was Gimli. I didn't think much of it until my brother told me yesteday it looked like Gimli to him too... |
