What flower did Tuor see blooming in Gondolin?

Answer found in UT.

In the language of the Rohirrim, simbelmyne, that is 'Evermind', 'for they blossom in all seasons of the year, and grow where dead men rest'. Those were the same flowers that bloomed on the burial-mounds of the Kings of Rohan below Edoras.

Oops, I didn't even think of Eärendil. But of course he wasn't really a star, he only shown like a star. Sorry, try again.

I didn't think that this would be to hard, but Gwairir hasn't even ventured a guess. So I will give a little clue. Middle Earth is supposed to be Europe in ancient times.

The Pole Star is Europe's brightest star; I believe that Varda made the Menelcamar as the brightest?

<img src="http://www.barrowdowns.com/images/posticons/sting.jpg" align=absmiddle> So close, yet light years away

Menelmacar was a constellation, not a single star. But depending on where you referenced your answer from, you could be correct. It is not the answer I was looking for but if Jes thinks it is ok, then I will have to give it to you.
