Movie Music question :D
hello folks! *waves*<P>i'm currently planning to enter a talent show and i plan to play that fiddle tune during the Edoras scene (you know, the one where Eowyn bursts out the main doors and watches the flag get blown off the flag pole: the first five notes are a,a,a,c, and b). Does anyone know what the title is?

If you mean on the soundtrack then it is <BR>'The King of the Golden Hall'. That is one of my favorites!

ahh, thanks very very much! <P>although "king of the golden hall" sounds like a strange name for a fiddle tune...

Good luck in your talent show, Gamja. You've chosen an absolutely wonderful song for your piece. I'm sure it will turn out beautifully. Best wishes!

Hi Gamja! I fully understand your wish to use the Rohan theme from The Two Towers - it's definetely on my top 5 list of favorites from the soundtracks. You can find the tune on several of the tracks of The Two Towers soundtrack. The theme on the TTT-soundtrack is actually played on a Hardanger fiddle, a Norwegian folk music instrument - it's separated from 'normal' fiddles by having extra resonating strings attached to create a more 'full' sound, & it's also a bit bigger than a violin, I think. Good luck with your playing. <p>[ 4:22 PM January 04, 2004: Message edited by: mollecon ]

Thx, Gamja, but this info (on the use of a Hardanger fiddle) is on the little booklet that's in the case to The Two Towers soundtrack - there's also a mention of it in the extra material on, I believe, the Extended Edition Two Towers, where there's also a short glimpse of the instrument itself.
