Costumes
Hi guys! For my GCSE Textiles project I'm going to be making a costume for Lady Galadriel. I wanted you guys advice on something! I was planning to make it in white shiny fabric with silver stars embroidered on it, but now I can't decide between gold or silver stars! Which so you think suits her character more? Thanks in advance!!!

I thought that Galadriel represented day, brightness and such. I would say gold stars.

I would go for silver. Althought it might be interesting to have it a non-shiny silver so that it is different from the shiny white material. (I really like the idea of the shiny white material). It would be cool ( but I don't know how you'd do it) if the stars were kind of gauzy.
Essentially, the kind of feel I get about Giladriel's clothing is that is almost liquid and not clear cut. Ok, I'm not being very clear, am I.

Definitely silver, since she wears the mithril (also called true-silver) ring! Though it's true - stars belong to the night, and she is called the day...

I'd say silver, because she already has gold hair, and Tolkien said that she was in white, and silver is more white-like then gold.

Thanks for all the tips and opinions! Keep them coming!!!! I was thinking silver too. I thought it might be too cold though. I dunno! I've got this wicked pattern that I'm going to edit and make it better so it's going to look quite cool when I'm done!!! I might wear it to the premier of TTT in my local cinema! Everyone will think I'm a freak but I don't care!

That sounds like so much fun! I would definitey use silver. Maybe when you've edited that pattern you could post a link to it here? I would love to see it!
