Silmaril What if they made it?

What would have been different if the company of the ring had succeeded in the trek over Caradhras? Besides Gandalf surviving. And about that, how would he have made things different?

I believe though tragic at that moment, Gandalf's fall was the starting point in Aragorn coming into his own and taking some serious responsibilities. Learning to trust to his own judgement.

Silmaril

Well, most probably Gandalf would not have turned into the more powerful version of himself, and probably he would not have been able to help Rohan... Ergo, Rohan falls, and Minas Tirith is taken in the battle for the Pelennor Fields...

Well... tahts a lot of whatifs... but my guess is that the best way it could happen was the way it actually happened...

Thumbs up

Yes, i quiet agree with the above statment.

Sometimes thing like these need to happen. without them, we would be stuck in past of things and we would never move on or learn from our mistakes. Aragorn would never gain the sense of a higher responsiblity if they hadn't have to continue without Gandalf. If you are familiar with the author/artist Brian Froud these next statments you will understand. especially if you have read [i]Good faeries/Bad faeries[/I.

If we could draw a faerie oracle for Aragorn and Gandalf these helpful things would show up:

The guardian at the gate: Passages to a new life. Openings. gatekeeping.

The singer of transformation: Transformation. Transscendence. Metamorphosis.

The sage: Wisdom. Hidden knowledge. Old age. Patience.

The friends: Friendship . support .aid

The topsie Turvets: Change of veiwpoint. Fresh looks. New ways of seeing.

And many more. as you can see all these represent: new ways, responsibilty, taking on a new challenge, support, new found wisdom, and let's not forget friendship.

All this info. (if you are interested, is avaliable in the following book.) The Faeries' Oracle : working with the faeries to find insight, wisdom, and joy. this also is another of Brian Froud's books.

Ihope that i have given some insight on this topic if you think that my knowledge is helpful. write soon. good bye.

Merry meet, Merry depart, Merry meet again.

I agree with that statement. He would not have turned into Gandalf the White, but remain Gandalf the Grey.

Things would've been bloody different, that's for sure.
