Sting A problem with TTT EE

I bought my copy of EE (dvd) and everything seemed fine. Then I noticed that the dvd "jumps" or makes a little pause always in three different parts. I know it's not my dvd player that makes the pauses but the dvd (I have tried four different copies of TTT EE). So I'm wondering if your discs does this thing too. Or perhaps it deals just with those dvd's in Northern Countries. The first pause appears in the very end of the first disk after Faramir has said: "Bind their hands." The second pause is on the disc two in the "Glittering Caves" scene when they show how the men are taken away from their children and wives. The third pause is on the very beginning of the third disc after one has chosen the languange. Answers appreciated!

Well, the discs in America are perfectly fine. I don't know what might be causing it, I know that usually it varies from disc to disc, some discs have a place where they always pause, but only on that one copy. For instance, my friend has a copy of FOTR:EE that always skips for a second when it is at the Mirror of Galadriel, but my copy of the movie plays perfectly well. So I can't offer you any help besides saying that it might be a problem that is only in your area, as you fear.

I've never caught those on mine, but next time I watch it I'll look for those pauses.

On my FOTR: EE it always jumps slightly just after Gandalf has arrived at Isengard, just before they start talking. I live in the UK so maybe it has something to do with countries?

It's a technical problem, more related to the interaction between the DVD's & the player(s) used. The DVD's are multilayered, & some (most, actually) DVD players aren't quite fast enough when changing in between different layers. It's a bit irritating, but nothing to worry about...

I have the same thing. I noticed a few in the TTT:EE, though it does not come to mind where. But I noticed it primarily in the "wimpy" edition of TTT, right after Aragorn and the warg plunge off the cliff - just a slight pause before the movie continued. Probably not noticed by anyone else. But it's just a bit of technical difficulty that makes the scene selection thing possible.

If you have a diagnosis setting on your DVD player try turning it on. My PS2 used to skip like that all the time until I called sony and they told me to put this setting on and it fixed the problem. I don't know what kind of DVD play you have but this setting can be found under the driver menu on a PS2 so yours may have something similar. You usually have to turn the setting on everytime you play a movie though. Good Luck!
