Tolkien Has Anyone Been to Marquette?

I'm curious if any of my fellow Downers have made the trek to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A, to view the original handwritten manuscripts for "The Hobbit", "The Lord of the Rings" and others.

I happen to live within a relatively easy distance, and I hope to someday go and view them (you have to use microfilm).

If any of you have seen them, is there anything particularily interesting to discover from them? I'd go just to have a look, because of course I live close enough, but I'm just wondering...

If you have no idea what I'm talking about but are interested, look Here and Here for a couple of articles on the subject.

Aww, that sounds so very interesting. I would surely go if I:

1) had parents that were lenient enough to let me go.

2) were about five years older.

3) could drive.

4) had my own car.

5) lived anywhere near Wisconsin.

None of those things are likely to happen, except for my growing physically older. I believe my puerile mind shall remain 14 forever.

I live in Louisiana, nabbit. It seems that nothing ever comes down here to the Southeast.
