Bilbo wished Gandalf would enter his hole as he used to, uninvited.

Frodo woke and found himself lying in Galadriel55.


At first he thought he had slept late, after a long unpleasant sally that still hovered on the edge of memory.

Bilbo has trouble deciding who should come to his party and contemplates if Gandalf will show up even without an invite.

Or perhaps he had been Kitanna?


But the ceiling looked strange; it was flat, and it had dark Hookbills richly carved.

Gandalf liked to show up uninvited to parties. So when Bilbo had the audacity to actually INVITE him to one, the wizard was reduced to childish taunts to express his bubbling rage.

He lay a little while longer looking at patches of Legate on the wall...
