I liked Carlas' dragon which has been retired ( ), and I quite like Beren87's current one.

:::blushes::: Thank you! I liked the dragon too, but I always love getting new ones! There are so many different types of avatars, I want to have them all! (though I don't think they'd fit )
Oh and I love your new one Sophia! When you look at it out of focus, it looks like a sort of dancing rabbit!!! [ April 16, 2003: Message edited by: Carlas ]

*blushing* Thanks for all the compliments... although the comparison to a dancing rabbit hadn't struck me at all . It's supposed to be raindrops hitting water.

Oh, don't worry, I know that! But if you look at it out of focus, it looks like a dancing rabbit, or dog! And no I am not insane! (its been quite some time since I've had a straight jacket on! )

Thanks, I think my avatar's from the same site as yours Saucepan Man... that quote's from something I wrote a long long time ago. I'm thinking of trying to keep myself storm/rain/sky themed, to go with the name...
I had a nomination for a really good avatar, but I simply keep forgetting whose it is! *scowls at herself* Sophia

The theme works well, Sophia. I wanted to do the same, but haven't been able to find any decent Saucepan Man pictures. Elanor found a great revolving saucepan, but it didn't look so good when I tried to use it unfortunately (although it did lead me to the site where I found my mirror-ball).
I just noticed Cúdae's avatar, which I think is from from the same site: I really like this one. If you look closely, it looks 3-D and the dark winged thingies flying overhead (are they dragons?) are vey eerie.

Drat you, Saucepan Man! His/Hers? was the one I mentioned before that I wanted to nominate! It looks like a Palantir. Reminded me of Minas Tirith with Nazgul flying over, if you must know...
And our Avatars are from the same site, I saw the saucepan there... you should pick up the toaster one when you get tired of the mirror ball... it seems like your style Sophia [ April 17, 2003: Message edited by: Sophia the Thunder Mistress ]

A tip of the rain hat to Sophia the Thunder Mistress' new avatar. I find it rather hypnotic.
Alas, I have to find a new addy for my avatar, so it is a nothing but a silly "X" right now. [ April 17, 2003: Message edited by: Birdland ] |

Thank you Birdland, Saucepan Man called it evocative. quite coincidental, I think, my Ethics prof just told me my Aesthetics-in-Tolkien paper was evocative. I think its my new specialty
And I miss your old Avatar... I quite liked it. Sophia

I was going to use Cudae's avatar, before I learnt that it was in use. I always thought the same as Sophia, mainly because I found it while I was reading the chapter The Palantir, which is one of my favorite chapters!

Yes it is me but I so don't play with Barbie dolls!! That picture wasn't taken in my room so there! Thought I would just put out THAT fire before it got big.
The picture didn't work as an avatar because it is too big, just squashed me up and made me look lke Sponge Bob Square Pants! EDIT: On my shirt it says BRITS DO IT BEST. A possibe joke you may like to make about this- Brits Do It Best With Barbie Dolls. Darn that picture. [ April 23, 2003: Message edited by: Mattius ]
