"Are you mad?!"
Is it Merry to Pippin when the latter is about to steal the palantir off Gandalf.
Arwen Imladris
07-02-2005, 03:56 PM
Yup! Good Job!
[sorry I was so slow, my modem just got fried, using my sister's computer at the moment...]
It's cool.
Ok easy one:
". . . my brothers!"
Kitanna
07-02-2005, 07:32 PM
"Sons of Rohan and of Gondor! My brothers!" Aragorn to the soldiers at the Black Gate
Folwren
07-02-2005, 08:23 PM
lol! One of the previous quotes - 'Are you mad?' - also comes from the TT and I was sooo confused for sometime. *chuckle*
I'm hoping I'll be able to arrive for a quote because I've got one stored for you all...hm. I hope I don't forget it.
Kitanna is of course correct.
Kitanna
07-03-2005, 08:52 AM
We need to bring in more people to this quote game. Though it is a pleasure guessing with all you, it's the same three people over and over again.
Anywho on to the quote:
"...where are we going?"
Pippin to Merry after he has looked into the palantir and Gandalf is about to drag him off to Minas Tirith.
Kitanna
07-03-2005, 01:02 PM
Not there...
Folwren
07-05-2005, 01:17 PM
Merry to Pippin on the Pelenor when Pippin finds him half dead? Maybe? All that I can think of is in the Council - 'Right. Where are we going?' But that's in the FotR.
Kitanna
07-05-2005, 01:31 PM
Think later in the movie
empress_han
07-05-2005, 01:58 PM
It's said by Pippin, methinks....
Is it when Elrond says 'Nine companions... So be it. You shall be the Fellowship of the Ring' and Pippin says 'Great. Where are we going?'(In FoTR)
Maybe?
love Han X
ETA ummm just read the first post...this is just RoTK isn't it...I'll think again..I'VE GOT IT! (I hope) Is it bilbo to frodo when frodo answers something like 'to the habour bilbo..'
Kitanna
07-05-2005, 02:08 PM
Welcome to the Downs Han X and it is Bilbo to Frodo
empress_han
07-05-2005, 02:11 PM

Easyish I think
'You don't mean that'

Sam to Frodo on the Stairs of Cirith Ungol!!! When he tells him to go back home. :(
-Folwren
Nope, that's 'you can't mean that' I think...that's not the one I meant!
Folwren
07-05-2005, 03:22 PM
That's cold, Empress.
Well Han Fowlren was actually correct with her quote but I think the one you mean is when Sam finds out Frodo is leaving at the Grey Havens.
empress_han
07-05-2005, 04:15 PM
That's cold, Empress.
Awww, sorry! I should be Empress of Ice! Mwahah! :P Yep Kath that is the one I meant (I'm pretty sure the quote is correct, no?) Sorry Folwren!
So either Folwren or Kath?
I'm here so I'll take it.
Do you not know?
empress_han
07-05-2005, 04:26 PM
ummm...(am I supposed to answer this quickly or do I have to wait?)
I'm not entirley sure but I think it may be a converstaion between Eowyn and Aragorn (If it is this bit...I love this scene) where he asks why Eowyn came and the answer is (I think) Do you not know? then the best bit....'it is but a shadow ...you love'
You can answer as soon as you think you know, though be aware you might not get confirmation for a while if the person you are replying to has gone to bed!
But yes you are correct, go on.
empress_han
07-05-2005, 04:35 PM
Here's one:
'Yes. I wish that.'
Kitanna
07-05-2005, 04:38 PM
Denethor to Faramir just after Faramir says "Now you wish that are places had been exchanged. That I had died and Boromir had lived"

"...be most unwise"
Arwen Imladris
07-05-2005, 05:14 PM
"To give him news of his beloved son's death would be most unwise"
Gandalf to Pippin?
Kitanna
07-05-2005, 05:26 PM
Yes
Arwen Imladris
07-05-2005, 05:31 PM
"The darkness is deepening."
Folwren
07-05-2005, 06:09 PM
Wild stab in the dark here, but I have to go out and play with my horse a bit before dinner...
Gandalf to Pippin in Minas Tirith........ah, never mind.......
And I don't have time to think. I'll be on later, likely.
Folwren
07-06-2005, 07:33 AM
Okay, here's a more educated guess.
Legolas to Aragorn right before the Palantir scene?
Arwen Imladris
07-06-2005, 12:54 PM
Nope, neither of those are totally correct.
Here is the full line:
"Frodo has passed beyond my sight. The darkness is deepening."
Folwren
07-06-2005, 01:48 PM
You probably shouldn't have finished the quote.
Gandalf to Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Eomer, and whoever else was there after the Battle of the Pellenor whilst standing around the throne room.
'Frodo has passed beyond my sight. The darkness is deepening...I have sent him to his death.'
But because I can not remember your line however hard I try, that might not be the place. I know he was Frodo has passed beyond my sight, and I know he said I have sent him to his death, but I can't remember The darkness is deepening!!!
Oh well.
empress_han
07-06-2005, 02:55 PM
I agree, I think it is in the hall at Minas Tirith with Eomer, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and Gandalf and Gandalf says'Frodo has passed beyond my sight. The darkness is deepening' Aragorn says 'if sauron had the ring we would know it'
Arwen Imladris
07-07-2005, 01:39 PM
Sorry!
Yes, Folwren that is correct! I looked on one of the many transcripts of ROTK that are on the internet, according to 'The Seat of Kings' Gandalf does say "The darkness is deepening."
Amanaduial the archer
07-07-2005, 01:47 PM
Sorry!
Yes, Folwren that is correct! I looked on one of the many transcripts of ROTK that are on the internet
Um...doesn't that kind of defeat the point? :p
Arwen Imladris
07-07-2005, 02:15 PM
I don't think so. And besides, I wanted to make sure that I wrote the quote down correctly, otherwise people would have big problems finding it! Just using the resources that are available to me! And a tv and DVD player isn't always available. Sorry, does it bother you? If it does, I don't have to play.
But:
7. Actually attempt to look up the answers unless you are confident that your guess is correct. Do not simply keep guessing every character until you get it right. Work at it a little bit and you will have a lot more fun as you start to learn more and more.
I think that applies even more when asking a question!
Folwren
07-07-2005, 08:03 PM
I apologize for taking so long in getting back. I was gone all day...
Okay, my quote:
Now he's gone.
Kitanna
07-07-2005, 09:12 PM
Merry to Aragorn just after Pippin and Gandalf leave Edoras?
Folwren
07-08-2005, 07:12 AM

Kitanna
07-08-2005, 09:02 AM

empress_han
07-08-2005, 10:11 AM
Gandalf, talking to Perigrin.(hopefully!)
" Sauron has yet to reveal his captain, the one who will lead his armies in this war. You've met him before; he stabbed Frodo on Weathertop."
Not sure if that's word for word but anyway...
Kitanna
07-08-2005, 10:15 AM

empress_han

'a hard day's work'
This is a fun one!
That is Pippin to Merry when they are sitting waiting to greet the Rohan party at the gates of Isengard. I can't remember the exact quote but its something like "I feel like I'm back in the Green Dragon after a hard days work".
Folwren
07-10-2005, 09:35 AM
Or Merry in reply:
'Except...you've never done a hard day's work.'
Elianna
09-02-2005, 10:28 AM
What was that Ten Day rule?

Aragorn indeed. Go ahead, Hiriel.

Not that way! Gollum to Frodo near Minas Morgul.
Captain Grishnahk
12-18-2005, 09:09 PM
Close, and i'll give it to you. I was originally thinking of when Gollum was choking Frodo, "Musn't go that way! Musn't hurt precious!"
But if there is a line exactly the same i think it should be right either way... your go!
Dimturiel
12-19-2005, 11:08 AM
