When does the war begin? And Aimè, we're still good for that last bit of fun, yes? Again, post it where you want it.Fea, I want you to start it.

Kath is "no" from 2/10 to 2/15. Fea is "hard to get online" after 2/16. That's trouble enough. This thing is done on 2/9. Finish it off, folks.

I have a secret to blow wide open: there will be an ATM2 some time soon in a BD thread near you, so if you want a continued fix, you'll get your chance.

Fea, I want you to start it. Okay. The war has begun. Do with it what you will.

I have a secret to blow wide open: there will be an ATM2 some time soon in a BD thread near you, so if you want a continued fix, you'll get your chance. My secret! You've blown it wide open! Yes, loves, he's right. And yours truly will run it. A few people already know a wee bit about it and a few people know more. Try not to share details, since I'm being sneaky on a few things. :)

Once this game is over, I'll provide the world with information on What Comes Next. Hope I can do as good a job as LMP has.

I do hope the fact that Valde's war with his parents barely got past the aggressive diplomacy stage is okay. He has a performance to deal with, though it will quickly fall apart, and very soon.

Just how it will...I have no idea.

Save filled. Who said all store-front psychics are fakes? Well, at least in Mordor, with magic running around loose, who knows, they could be real...

I know we're ending on the 9th (sniffles) but I'm fine indefinitely as well. Always time to write in a fun story. :D

Right, yes, indeed, and so forth. I've been trying to keep up but things have been slightly unpredictable over here. Just glad I'm not a main player!

Another ATM, eh? One day it'll be bigger than Werewolf...

In fact, there's an idea for a t-shirt: ATM—bigger than Werewolf

I'd better snap up the rights to that! :D

I intend to make this war part of the greater war twixt evil and good, in short, between A Slan and Anakron. and, just so you all know, parents have sided with A Slan, which means teenagers must fight alongside evil and Anakron. :)

Feanor of the Peredhil
02-08-2006, 02:42 PM
Before I post, there's an important question. A Slan is on Illamatar's side, correct? Because that will cause problems since Alli is pretty stuck with performing Eru's will.

Nevermind my last post, and BEAUTIFUL defeat of the second werewolf, Eomer.

Oh, and if you're wondering how my Hunter was able to kill a wolf without dying? Deau ex machina and rule breaking are both in Mordor. :D

A summing up so far, and please tell me if I missed something:

The way it looks to me, the following Offending Party members still need to "pass" (or not) the following tests:

Mardil - psych eval
Alli - psych eval & final exam
Wilhelmina - Celebrity Hunt, psych eval, and final exam.
Valde - Celebrity Hunt & psych eval. (having taken over for the troll teacher and done a better job, it is considered that Valde has passed his course with flying colors).

Tomorrow's the last day. On February 10 I'll write the final post.

Alli's too busy drunkenly dancing with Aimè to get Kirk involved (unless, of course, she began to drunkenly dance with him...). Besides, I'm too curious as to what TGWBS's got planned to mess with the war. I'd probably have a better idea if I'd ever read the Chronicles, but alas...

Can't wait to see what you guys cook up for the rest of this...

Heh. Me too. Kirk is leading to a convoluted side plot to keep Panakeia neutral while still participating in the battle. So no changes to the war should result. :)

Thanks for your patience, everyone. I had originally expected to have all the closings written in one day, but am finding the process to be quite exacting. I hope you don't mind. That's four down and three to go, although one of them, Mardil's, looks like it may be taking a slightly different and unexpected turn (read: plot twist :)).

After I've done the final awarding of points, I expect that each of you will wish to write an appropriate epilogue for your characters.

Cameo writers are welcome to write one closing post as well, if you wish.

.....but please wait until I've done the final points awarding, okay?

Anybody have any questions? Complaints? Corrections of errors on my part?

Okay, the "Mardil's fate......?" post is up. Obviously, we have a "coda" here. Feanor, please rest assured that I'm not messing with your plans. Your Alli character did ask about "the third werewolf", right? Well, now you have him.

Anyway, any of you may feel free to write into this. There is a relatively clean solution to Mardil's current situation. Can you figure it out? Or do you want me to tell you?

Mardil as werewolf has lost his reason due to the wizards' spell, and is heading in whatever direction the next writer takes him. Any questions?

Feanor of the Peredhil

Look, Eomer, we have a fourth werewolf! How terrifying. You see, LMP, I already have a third. You never did manage to guess him. He's being played by Anguirel in ATM2, in case you're curious.

Questions: Are we now allowed to write our responses? Will Mardil's wolvery cease once he leaves Mordor, as was planned?

As for that solution... Sai could steal his... ;) :p

Will Mardil's wolvery cease once he leaves Mordor, as was planned? The Blue Istari won't let him get out of Mordor, not as long as he's a werewolf.

As for that solution... Sai could steal his... ;) :pYou could give it a try...... but .....

Feanor of the Peredhil
02-20-2006, 01:31 PM
Well then we certainly must un-wolf him. I'd hate to resort to obtuse acts of deau ex machina in order to make sure my ruler of Gondor is in place. :p

So how, my dears, shall we fix Mardil? Has Severus Snape been Assigned? I could go assign him... have him whip up a potion. Surely medications have been Assigned? I know I've Assigned swallowing pills without water. We could fix him up that way... Or there could be a cheesy and romantic kiss of true love that solves all problems? Just because Alli and Aimè are like *this* doesn't mean Alli isn't still pretty crazy about Mardil.

What do y'all think will work?

Kath

Don't even think about it. No one messes with my, er, Mardil's, Kingly behind. It's one of his best attributes!
Or there could be a cheesy and romantic kiss of true love that solves all problems? Just because Alli and Aimè are like *this* doesn't mean Alli isn't still pretty crazy about Mardil.
Ah, but would a Mardil-Alli kiss qualify for a "true love" kiss? I think not. More like a confused hormones kiss or something like that. I don't think that would cut it.

Now, what would happen if Alli lures Mardil someplace and Eomer shoots him with a crossbow, killing him? Any thoughts?

Grrrrrr! Aaarggghh!! Rrraaahhhh!!

But, seriously, I suppose after you have done whatever it is to Mardil you are going to do, I could rehash the whole thing from W-Mardil perspective.

Eomer of the Rohirrim
02-24-2006, 11:47 AM
I'll have a think about it, and probably post tomorrow. Anything you'd like me to touch on would be appreciated. *read: I don't have a clue what I'm going to say*

I'm thinking, the relationship between Mardil and Alli.

Anyway, I would have thought Mardil would make a rather sophisticated and coherent Werewolf.

Feanor of the Peredhil
02-24-2006, 12:13 PM
Alli, once she wakes up, is NOT going to want to kill Mardil. If she was lucid, she'd remember that he'd come back to life anyhow, but she's not lucid and she thinks she's in love. Sort of. She's a girl. It's confusing. :D She likes Aimè better though, since he didn't hold a knife to her throat in an SUV.

Eomer of the Rohirrim
02-24-2006, 12:21 PM
So Alli won't be involved in the fight at all? If she doesn't want Mardil to die then she can't go near him or he'll be able to kill her.

You want to be a classic damsel-in-distress looking on, don't you? :D

the phantom

Anyway, I would have thought Mardil would make a rather sophisticated and coherent Werewolf.
Heh. Okay, I suppose that could be amusing. Instead of Werewolf-Mardil being a mindless beast, make him a very evil human with wolfish features.

When writing his character, think "What would Phantom-Wolf do in this situation?" After all, it was the phantom who bit him, so it stands to reason Mardil would take after him.

As far as adding drama and looking for a way to kill him, remember this from Werewolf XII, Erbar Telamarth-
Phantom destroyed countless villages over the next two years, but, suddenly and unexpectedly, the man inside triumphed over the werewolf and Phantom cast the evil spirit from his own body- something no werewolf had ever done.
I think it makes sense to remember Barrow-Downs history when dealing with a Barrow-Downs based anachronism. Perhaps the phantom passed on to Mardil not only the curse of the werewolf, but also the ability to fight it more than others.

For instance, the fiendish Werewolf-Mardil might manage to gain the upper hand in the struggle (toss the Hunter's weapons away and stun him) and have Alli at his mercy, but at this critical time maybe Mardil could put the brakes on his wolvish side for just long enough for the Hunter to snatch up his crossbow and kill him.

That might provide some drama. It would allow for a fight, give Werewolf-Mardil an opportunity to gloat over his victory in an arrogant Phantomish sort of way, allow Alli the chance to be confused about her thoughts (I like this guy, but he's about to kill me), and give Eomer the chance to make a difficult crossbow shot (maybe Eomer could be trapped beneath something and so can't move to get a better shot, and Alli is between him and Mardil, and so Eomer must squeeze off a shot within an inch of Alli's head/neck/chest in order to hit Mardil).

Not that there can't be a fleeting moment of self-control, but nothing so double-personed as the movie's version of Gollum/Smeagol; not even Tolkien's version.

Okay, we'll expect a post from Fea next, in which Mardil should come back to life as a non-werewolf.

Then Celuien will follow with a post in which Anakron turns into a werewolf, and everybody knows what to do so Anakron is quickly dispatched.

I'll write the next post, in which Anakron comes back to life, and FINALLY recounts Mardil's score and whether he passes the Tests.

What I've written above is the skeleton of the plot. Put whatever meat and sinew and flesh on it that you wish.

I'm sorry if it seems I've forgotten about ATM. I have not. I simply feel like that only thing left for Valde is one post to wrap things up, and it seems everyone is not done with some plot stuffs, so I thought I would wait a little before my final post. I do hope that's alright...I probably should have asked, but hey, no one's yelling at me yet... ;)

That's because there's no reason to yell at you. Your perceptions are accurate, Durelin. If anything, I should apologize to you for not clarifying what is needed from you from here on out.

So I'm sorry. :D

And to clarify: those who are not directly involved in this little coda about Mardil, Alli, Aimé, Anakron and Panakeia, please hang on and be prepared to do your wrap up post when I let you know that we've finally finished the coda. :p

Well, we can't let Panakeia fall for the Grand Anakronist, then have him go and die on her without a little melodrama, can we? Especially when those lines from The Wolf Man are out there. ;)

Hmm, Istari, Deus ex Machina, I can't think of anything else. I guess the Istari would make sense, being that they started the Dweomer in the first place.

There is a solution.
Then I suppose we ought to find it.

Mardil is no longer in the past, he exists now, as he was sent into the future. How can Mardil make it back to Mordor? The same way everything else goes to Mordor...

Someone needs to go to the thread "What do you assign to Mordor?" and assign Mardil II.

Or perhaps to avoid another run in with the two wizards Mardil II should be assigned to the Shire? Would that work?

Gee, and here I thought I was being obvious. Even if the ATM version of me is a little exaggerated, of course.

The other references (and there are a few ;) ) are a lot less obvious and I'm probably the only one who would get them, like the car accident on the Schuylkill Expressway (http://www.phillyroads.com/roads/schuylkill)along Boathouse Row (http://mediaroom.visitpa.com/files/boathouse_row.jpg) that sent Nichole to Mordor in the first place. I really hate driving here, at least when heading into/out of the city. Never had an accident (or ticket!) but if I do, it'll be on the Schuylkill. It didn't earn its not-so-affectionate nickname of 'Sure-kill' without good reason.

delego -are [to transfer , commit, assign; to impute, attribute, ascribe] (The half of delego clue was just meant to give away the language. I probably made that confusing.)
valde [intensely , very much]; in replies, [certainly, very much].

Very assigned [to Mordor] if I got it right.

But I wonder if it can be read as Valde de Ego with a drop of the l. Which would be a funny double meaning given Valde's character. Durelin will have to enlighten us. :D

Durelin
04-07-2006, 08:42 AM
TGWBS has got it.

In Latin, the literal translation would be "I assign very much," which makes more sense if you translate 'valde' as intensely or something of that nature.

'Ego' = I, but in the actual verb 'delego' it is only really coincidence that the word 'ego' appears in it. The 'o' ending is simply the 1st person singular present tense ending for verbs.

And yes, I have wondered myself whether I should think of him as 'Walde'... :D

And hey, I like the ego thing...that's a good idea. Yeah, let's go with that, too. I did that on purpose, too...yeah. :p
