View Full Version : Middle Earth Real-Estate
Ok, guys. I'm unemployed. I'm bored. I can't go out, because I barely made rent this month.
You know the drill, you know what I do in this sort of situation.
Without further fanfare, here's the Middle Earth Real-Estate Quiz (http://rumandmonkey.com/widgets/toys/testgen/4236/)
For entertainment purposes only. I am not making any money off this, and I am not a trained... anything. I'm just that bored right now.
Enjoy.

Mixing up my answers must have been what got me 'whimsical.' ;)

You have an eye for the whimsical. You see beyond the surface of things, and find beauty even in the heart of darkness. Your house radiates warmth even in the darkest night.
Some people think you're a bit of a dork, but what do they know? Right? Right?
Thanks for turning your boredom into something fun to share, Lush. That pic is one of my favourite ones of the Old Forest. A little eerie, a little creepy, definitely wild, perilous and not sentimental. :D

Soulful. Sensitive. Serious. Subtle. In love with nature, but enamoured of the basic comforts of civilization as well. You romantic, you.
Invite the neighbours for an Orc-barbeque sometime. You'd be good at that sort of thing.
You belong in Rivendell!
How lovely! Rivendell is the exact spot I would pick if I could go to Middle-earth. :)
Very nice quiz.

What a piece of work is Hobbit! How hungry in the morning (and beyond)! How infinitely social! In taste and disposition, how practical and cheery...
*cough*
Pass that beer, already. http://stat.rumandmonkey.com/tests/6/3/4236/16020.jpg
You belong in the Shire!
Yaaaay. No elves! :D

First time:
You make up for your nasty habit of imprisoning guests with age-old wisdom and undeniable gravitas. Your decorating skills lean toward industrial and deconstructed styles. You terrorize the neighbours, whether with loud music or worse, and you don't give a hoot about zoning restrictions.
Oh, and we can't be friends anymore.
You belong in Isengard!
Friendship is overrated! :p
Second time:
Soulful. Sensitive. Serious. Subtle. In love with nature, but enamoured of the basic comforts of civilization as well. You romantic, you.
Invite the neighbours for an Orc-barbeque sometime. You'd be good at that sort of thing.
You belong in Rivendell!
One time Isengard, one time Rivendell...
I don't even want to know what that tells about me. :D

1.take
Isengard
knew there was a reason Im living alone
2.take
Mordor
Seriously, WHAT is your problem? Is psychotherapy THAT expensive nowadays? Or are you a naturalist, yearning to live among the savages and/or attempting to study Orc reproduction?
Trust me, you don't want to know.
okay overdid it this time
3.take
Gondor
Either you fancy yourself a manly-man, a womanly-woman, or you've cultivated quite a taste for them.
If no manliness is on the day's agenda, the library is as good of a place to chill as any, right?
You're not fooling anyone though. *wink*
Ok, ok, don't look at the like that. The truth is, you're also a progressive individual who doesn't like to waste his or her potential. So there.
deffo not womanly-woman, but I like the most ;)
I don't even want to know what that tells about me.
Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, anyone? ;)

Rivendell .... perfect until the sea longing kicked in....
Same here too! Mountains are great, but you need the sea too for it to be perfect. ;)
Was the place I'd actually best be suited to - The Grey Havens - a possible result?
I've been remiss about the Grey Havens. But I could potentially change the quiz... What say ye?

You're as ambitious as you are guarded. You like beautiful things. Not just looking at them, but having them.
This doesn't mean your intentions aren't good, and, frankly, if you're at all good-looking, perhaps I'll let you add me to your collection.
Aesthetics shouldn't trump hospitality, though. If your weary visitors stand on your pretty carpet with muddy boots, you should be able to handle it. Right.

True.
Your decorating skills lean toward industrial and deconstructed styles.
I'm not sure it does the word "style" any favors.
You terrorize the neighbours
Darn right!
whether with loud music or worse
Worse.
and you don't give a hoot about zoning restrictions.
Those wretches told me I couldn't put my heads-on-spikes out on the patio anymore, to say nothing about them trying to make me get rid of my slave pits! :(
You belong in Isengard!
Hmm...that's not the first place that came to mind...
Oh, and we can't be friends anymore.
Not even just a little...? :p

I've been remiss about the Grey Havens. But I could potentially change the quiz... What say ye?
Well thanks for the offer, but much as I love living by the sea in RL, the area I live in is notorious for being a place people go to retire (including the dear old Prof himself) and my "village" has officially the highest concentration of old people in the entire country (the shopwindows are varifocal round here ;) ) so I can't help thinking that choosing to live in the part of Middle Earth that exists mainly for the benefit of people waiting to check out would be a bit of a busman's holiday.
So I am happy to stick with Imladris (at least unlit all the cute elf boys leave :p ) when I will remove to Dol Amroth....

I got Old Forest first off (like Beth, I suspect from mixing my answers too much) then I tried to be a bit more cohesive and got Rivendell. Which suits me fine, I think, I always thought it sounded lively, collegiate and multi-cultural by the rather insular standards of elvish strongholds.

Well, the test confirms what I would have chosen on my own - Rivendell! The perfect mix of Elven and other, of work and pleasure, of art and nature, the place to be for whatever you wish...
