Estanesse
11-07-2005, 12:51 PM
 :o :o

Can I explain that, sorry for that. But anyway it is the odd out.

Glirdan
11-07-2005, 06:33 PM
Ok, if it is the odd out, is it because no no Hobbit explored in it or because it's not man made? I think both of those are wrong but hey, it's worth a shot, right?

Plastic_Panda
11-07-2005, 08:08 PM
it was the only one that was a cave?
or possibly it was the only one named in Common. Minas Ithil, no, Carochost, no, Barad-dur, no....well its right but might not be correct ;)

Gil-Galad
11-07-2005, 11:08 PM
only one inhabited by dwarves?

Estanesse
11-09-2005, 07:54 AM
All good guesses, but No, no and nope.

Mettare
11-11-2005, 12:31 PM
Thousand Caves because it's the only First Ager? (Destroyed in the First Age, that is)

Estanesse
11-11-2005, 05:05 PM

Ravenhill - Not associated with Numenoreans/nothing built by Numenoreans there?

Mettare
11-17-2005, 11:34 AM
Was it that obvious?

Perhaps it was...

Your turn, anyway. :D

NightKnight
11-18-2005, 06:54 PM
No, it was in fact a very good question. I just got lucky getting it right from the start. :)

Anyway, I'm tired, so here's an easy one:

Old Forest
Ithilien
Fangorn
Mirkwood

Mettare
11-19-2005, 11:04 AM
Ithilien because it's not a forest?

Can't be that easy, can it?

Gil-Galad
11-19-2005, 12:46 PM
fangorn, the only place where evil doesn't live

Ithillien is a forest i do beleive, at least it has some woods in it

Morsul the Dark
11-19-2005, 01:09 PM
fangorn ents live there

Gil-Galad
11-19-2005, 01:35 PM
Old man Willow could be considered an Ent gone bad...

NightKnight
11-19-2005, 05:07 PM
None right.

11-19-2005, 05:21 PM
The ring never passes throug Fangorn

Plastic_Panda
11-19-2005, 09:44 PM
mirkwood is the only one with an elf kingdom in it...

NightKnight
11-20-2005, 01:10 PM
Nope.

Hint: Hobbits are involved.

Rune Son of Bjarne
11-20-2005, 01:13 PM
Mirkwood is the only one place Bilbo has been ?

NightKnight
11-20-2005, 01:15 PM
Nope.

The answer is not where something/-one has happened/been, but where something/-one has not happened/been.

arcticstorm
11-25-2005, 09:59 PM
Mirkwood is the only one that all of the main hobbits from LOTR had not passed through or at least part of it.

NightKnight
11-26-2005, 07:24 AM
Nope.

Telchar
11-26-2005, 09:11 AM
No Hobbit was captured in Mirkwood?

NightKnight
11-27-2005, 06:39 AM
Nope. Think happy thoughts.

Telchar
11-28-2005, 03:02 AM
OK - Still Mirkwood
No hobbit was befriended by strangers in mirkwood

The other three has Bombadil, Faramir and Treebeard...

NightKnight
11-28-2005, 01:10 PM
Precisely. :)

Mithlond
Vinyalondë
Harlond
Edhellond

Mettare
12-13-2005, 04:31 PM
Harlond because there were two havens by that name?

(If not, which one are you thinking about?)

Telchar
12-13-2005, 05:43 PM
Nope...

Rune Son of Bjarne
12-13-2005, 05:54 PM
Vinyalondë is the only build by men ?

Telchar
12-14-2005, 02:45 AM
Sorry no... that answers also that we're talking about Harlond in Gondor... not that it matters much ;)

Beleg
12-14-2005, 04:32 AM
Harlond in Gondor? Is it the only place which is a port and not a haven. Vinyalondë was a former haven before the permanent settling of Aldarion. Became a harbour after.

Telchar
12-18-2005, 06:54 AM
Nope - not that either...

Valier
12-18-2005, 11:27 PM
Mithlond-Has two names, also called Grey Havens?

Telchar
12-19-2005, 02:44 AM

Last Desert
Anfauglith
Gorgoroth

Glirdan
06-11-2006, 08:48 PM
My guess would be Anfauglith, but I may be wrong.

Rune Son of Bjarne
06-12-2006, 04:07 AM
Normaly I would ask why, but since it is you I will accept it.

Yes it is Anfauglith

Glirdan
06-12-2006, 05:32 AM
Ha!! I'm special!! Yay!! :D

Ok, I'll be back with the places later.

Rune Son of Bjarne

Glirdy don't make me go and get my Orlando Bloom videos!

Glirdan
07-30-2006, 08:41 AM
Oops!! Forgot about it! Okay, I'll get one later for sure. Thanks Rune! :)

Glirdan
07-30-2006, 08:57 PM
Hmmmm... I think this should be an easy one...

Rhun
Anduin
Brandywine
Entwash

Have at it! :)

Gil-Galad
07-30-2006, 09:47 PM
Rhun is only place thats a Sea

Glirdan
07-30-2006, 10:00 PM
And you're correct. Your thread! ;)

Gil-Galad
07-30-2006, 10:01 PM
cool...

Mountains of Mirkwood
Lonely Mountain
Misty Mountains
White Mountains

Glirdan
07-30-2006, 11:41 PM
Ummm... The Lonely Mountain is the only one of the lot that isn't part of a group of Mountains?

Gil-Galad
07-31-2006, 07:09 AM
nope

Rune Son of Bjarne
07-31-2006, 09:12 AM
Mountains of Mirkwood - they are the only ones in a forrest. . .and I belive they where more like hills than actuall mountains.

Macalaure
07-31-2006, 09:24 AM
I say 'Mountains of Mirkwood', too, but because the other three contained dwarven settlements at some time.

Gil-Galad
07-31-2006, 01:21 PM
White Mountains has the forest of the Woses...good guess but no...

And Macalure you are correct, it was easy but i just wanted to see who would get it

Macalaure
08-01-2006, 01:50 AM
So....

Dol Guldur
Minas Morgul
Mount Gundabad
Tol-in-Gaurhoth

Gil-Galad
08-01-2006, 07:03 AM
Mt. Gundabad never had any of Saurons influence in it, and it was a pure Goblin Colony

or

DOl Guldur was the only place not originally belonging to a race of good (Men, Dwarves, Elves)

Macalaure
08-01-2006, 07:18 AM
The second it is.

Go ahead!

Gil-Galad
08-01-2006, 11:39 AM
Halls of Menegroth
Amon Hen
Pelenor Fields
Battle of the Unnumbered Tears

this one is a toughy

Glirdan
08-01-2006, 12:54 PM
Amon Hen is the only one that isn't part of Rohan.

or

Battle of Unnembered Tears is the only battle of the four.

The Squatter of Amon Rûdh
08-22-2006, 05:51 AM
The Halls of Menegroth hosted a battle between Elves and Dwarves. The rest of those battles were against Orcs and their ilk.

Rune Son of Bjarne
06-22-2008, 07:00 AM
Lets start with an easy one.

Doriath
Nargothrond
Brethil
Dorthonion

Nerwen
06-22-2008, 07:44 AM
Nargothrond?

The other three were heavily forested.

Rune Son of Bjarne
06-22-2008, 07:58 AM
nope

it is easy in a more faith oriented way.

Siiw
06-22-2008, 08:07 AM
Brethil was inhabited by humans?

Rune Son of Bjarne
06-22-2008, 11:32 AM
Getting closer, but not quite right.

Also Barahir, Baragund and others lived for a time in Dorthonion

Nerwen
06-28-2008, 09:34 AM
Another clue, please.

Rune Son of Bjarne
06-28-2008, 09:58 AM
of course. . .sorry

Siiw was on the right path, but need to think in smaller terms or rather more specifick terms.

Another clue could be the word "Doom"

Gollum the Great
06-29-2008, 04:36 PM
Brethil was never actually conquered.

Rune Son of Bjarne
07-01-2008, 08:08 PM
Sorry I did not spot you reply. . . and I am sorry, but it is not the answer I am looking for.

I thought this would be an easy(ish) one, but clearly my brain works in unorthodox ways. . . then again my friend Asbjørn got it right in first try.

Nerwen
07-05-2008, 06:47 AM
'Nother clue, please.:Merisu:

Rune Son of Bjarne
07-05-2008, 06:48 PM
The answer has to do with a single being.

Gollum the Great
07-05-2008, 08:22 PM
Lets start with an easy one.

Yeah right. Really easy.

Uhhh... Turin never went to Dorthonion???:mad::mad:

Rune Son of Bjarne
07-06-2008, 08:36 AM
Hey I thought it was easy. . . Turin is a very used theme in the quiz room and as I told you earlier: I presented this for my mate and he got it right in first try without any clues.

Anyways it is not the first time that the stuff I find easy is difficult to others and what I find difficult turns out to be no problem for them.

The thread is yours Gollum

Gollum the Great
07-06-2008, 11:03 AM
Alright, sorry. Maybe I was wrong.

Edoras
Helm's Deep
Pelargir
Minas Tirith

Shards of Narsil
07-07-2008, 02:45 PM
Pelargir

This is the only place in the list that Gandalf did not visit during the war of the ring.

Gollum the Great
07-07-2008, 08:37 PM
Nope.

Gollum the Great
07-09-2008, 06:23 PM
Hint?

Gollum the Great
07-13-2008, 02:50 PM
I'll take it for granted. It refers to something during the LOTR.

Azaghâl
07-16-2008, 02:19 PM
It sounds too easy but, there was no battle at Edoras.
