View Full Version : What's Missing?
Aerandir Carnesir
03-20-2003, 08:25 PM
Ok. I'm not sure if there's a quiz like this anywhere, but here goes:
I give a group of things, people, places, etc., but I leave something(s) out. Someone has to then figure out what's missing. When someone get's it right, it's their turn and they get to do it.
I't's like this:
Aragorn, Gandalf, Frodo, Gimli, Merry, Pippin, Boromir, and Sam. What or who's missing?
Beren87
03-20-2003, 08:27 PM
Hmm..I don't remember a game like this, good idea!
Legolas is missing! (and if this is the movie, thank god).

Frodo, Bilbo, Galadriel, Gandalf.
alaklondewen
03-31-2003, 09:18 PM
Elrond, Sam, and Cirdan the missing ring-bearers?
Narya
04-01-2003, 08:10 AM
Or if only one is missing: Elrond cause he sailed away with the others and was a ring bearer.

Sam did too though. smilies/wink.gif

You are, of course, correct, Sophia. And I thought that it was a tricksy one. smilies/rolleyes.gif
Sophia the Thunder Mistress
04-14-2003, 10:19 PM
lol... it would have been, except I was the one who posted the list of ring-touchers on the other thread smilies/wink.gif Let me think for a moment...
Tirion, Minas Anor, Avallone, Gondolin...
Sophia
The Saucepan Man
04-15-2003, 05:08 AM
... I was the one who posted the list of ring-touchers on the other thread
So you did. I honestly hadn't noticed that. smilies/smile.gif
Excellent question, Sophia. My first thought was that they were all White Cities, which led me on to what I think might be the answer ...
... Armenelos in Númenor, this being the other location of one of the White Trees - Nimloth descended from Telperion.
There was Galathilion, the White Tree that stood in Tirion, Celeborn in Avallone and the Two White Trees that grew in the courts of Minas Anor. Gondolin had no actual White Tree, but an image of the Two Trees of Valinor that was made by Turgon.
So, is it Armenelos?
Sophia the Thunder Mistress
04-15-2003, 11:14 AM
it is, but there's one more... smilies/smile.gif
The Saucepan Man
04-15-2003, 02:04 PM
Well then that must surely be Ezellohar, the green mound before the Gates of Valimar, where the original Two Trees of the Valar stood.
Edit: Wait! Scrub that. You must be looking for Minas Ithil, where the original fruit from Nimloth was planted.

Hmm...Old fat Spider maybe? They were all names Bilbo called the spiders in The Hobbit.
Sophia the Thunder Mistress
04-15-2003, 05:33 PM
Those are all names that Bilbo called the spiders in the Hobbit, but I can't find anymore... *frowns* possibly "old fat spider"?
Old fat spider spinning in a tree!
Old fat spider can't see me!
Attercop! Attercop!
Won't you stop,
Stop your spinning and look for me?
Old Tomnoddy, all big body,
Old Tomnoddy can't spy me!
Attercop! Attercop!
Down you drop!
You'll never catch me up your tree!
Lazy Lob and crazy Cob
are weaving webs to wind me.
I am far more sweet than other meat,
but still they cannot find me.
Here I am, naughty little fly;
you are fat and lazy.
You cannot trap me, though you try,
in your cobwebs crazy.

I am absolutely drawing a blank concerning Faramir's disobeying someone. But that is the correct reasoning for my list. Beregond was the missing item on my list.
So, it your turn with my compliments :)
Oh, duh...now I remember. When he allowed Frodo and Sam to go free..or am I mixing up the movie with the book??? I can't remember.

yes i was thinking when he allowed frodo and sam to go free, although it's made more explicit in the movie it's also in the book. But yeah, I guess Beregond is the more obvious guess. I guess I too am being brainwashed by the movie
