Annunfuiniel
03-06-2003, 12:22 AM
All the forests are soon guessed so someone ought to get it right! smilies/smile.gif But how about Nan Elmoth? Those feelings weren't really directed to the forest itself but were born inside of it: the great love of Melian and Thingol but later the hatred of Eöl the Dark Elf.
Horse-Maiden of the Shire
03-06-2003, 04:18 PM
Well...how about the forest that Sam and Frodo were in when they were captured by Faramir? Sorry, I'm not sure if it is Ithilien or not. But, it could be Faramir and his rangers representing love for the forest and valley and then the Orcs and evil creatures around it representing hate.
Pallando B.C
03-06-2003, 07:25 PM
Yeah, I probably should have narrowed it down a bit more. It was Nan Elmoth becuase of the love (Elwë and Melian) and Hate (Eöl).

Annunfuiniel

Dírhael opposed the marriage of his daughter Gilraen and Arathorn, Aragorn's father. He thought that Gilraen was too young to get married and besides he foresaw that Arathorn would not live long.

To make the question clearer - I am looking for a prophesy stated in ROTK.
elven maiden Earwen
03-23-2003, 11:25 AM
over the land lies a showdow
westward reaching wings of darkness
the tower trembles;to the tombs of kings
doom aproches;the dead awaken;
for the hour has come for the outh breakers;
at the stone of erch they shall stand again
and here there a horn in the hills ringing
who shall the horn be?who shall call them
from the grey twilight,the forgotten people?
there heir of him to whom the oath swore
from the north he shall come,need will drive him:
he shall pass the doors of the dead.
Aragorn is telling Gimli and Legolas this when there about to enter the paths of the dead. it talks about the paths of the dead.
