What does that IP: logged mean? It has been bothering me for a while.

It means exactly what it says. That means admittedly little to anyone except a Moderator or Administrator, who can follow the link to see the poster's IP address. This helps to determine posters with multiple identities and known trouble-makers.

That might explain why I did not get it. It's a problem with my multiple personalety. I keep making accounts. :P

Yes good point. I know a site where three people are a member, but post on one computer. How do you sort that out?

What if somebody blocks the broadcasting of the IP adress from their computer? Because I believe that there are some programs to do that. smilies/confused.gif

IPs are what we use to ban people who do really stupid things on the site. We can ban a specific IP or a whole ISP if the person is persistent about bothering the forum. IPs also give us a nice written 'paper' trail for when we have to report a person to their ISP for actions counter to the agreement all people sign with their ISPs.
