Lush has started enough great threads, and I feel that I owe her one. This may or may not repay the debt-- that is up to "The Ranger" and his contacts.

As Lush swings thru Europe, she is supposed to connect up with several BD'ers, at least that was (is?) her hope. I wanted to start a central thread where we could keep up with and keep in touch with her. Since she's an aspiring journalist, I thought it would be fun to have a fictional person "reporting" on her, and have information routed through that "reporter" (The Dunedain in question) in Middle-Earth, Tolkienish terms-- fun for her, good training for us. THe thread would be active whenever Lush and another BD-er connected and would lie dormant otherwise. Of course it must stay within ME and BD boundaries, including (ahem!) being 'family-friendly'. (Think of it as a fun challenge.)

I guess our fictional journalistically- oriented Dunedain needs a name: LushHunter is one possibility, but I hereby request more creative names than that. He's a Dunedain, might look a bit like Viggo (or not), might wear Eyeliner (or not) and his job is to keep track of Lush as she wends her way through Europe (or not?).

(Maybe Wingfoot would be a good name.)

This Dunedain will no doubt send messages and reports to different Barrow-Downers as Lush's journey progresses, and occasionally might send us a message via Lush herself. So-- whatever his name is, he's out there tracking Lush across Europe, and if any Barrow-Downer hears from him (or from her, ) I hereby request that her quest be hereby reported on!

I guess we should name him first. So send in your ideas.

this dunadan happens to be haradan with a little bit of hyaradanism as well

he heard as Lush is in Kiev, and is taking cold baths, not for the sake of health, but for the sake of some illegitimate children and their education in Switzerland

Ahem

I speak for a number of people when I vociferate a resounding "What the heck?"

Legolas certainly speaks for me.

Let's get some clarification of what's going on here.

Okay, to be blunt... Except that I thought the "reporter" needed a name, and so I wanted to get that squared away.

If that's too hokey for words, BW, let me know and I'll delete the thread, or obviously you can if you like..

I honestly had no idea what was going on with this topic, and under normal circumstances I would have simply closed it. But I know you always follow the guidelines of the Downs, so I thought I'd have you fill us all in. Keep it Middle-earth and Barrow-Downs, please.

Let's go with it and see what happens.

Thank you, BW. I have edited the first post somewhat and I hope that will clear up a few issues.

(I sure wish I was better at coherently starting topics. I think my dismal record is something like 2 for 6.)
