I can't go to the forum home! Whenever I click on the link, I get this message:
FYI
Hack attempt logged: attempting to open topic file that is not in proper format.
When I go to the www.barrowdowns.com (http://www.barrowdowns.com) I get the same message. The only way I can navigate the site is if the page is open and I go to the menu listing on the bottom right hand corner.
Anyone else with this problem?

Yes, this is the second time there have been problems today. Let's hope the Barrow-Wight and administrators can get it fixed soon...

Try again - the forum main page should be accessible now. Please continue posting any further problems here.

Thanks for posting the exact error messages!
Please do so again if any further problems occur -- the messages really help us track down the bugs.

PM me or Underhill with the specifics of your sister's account, and we'll see what we can do.

Sorry for having to have my brother post the problem about my profile. BW, what do you mean specifics? When I click on my profile, I get this message:
Software error:
/home2/barrowwight/cgi-bin/Members/user_ratings/00007087.cgi did not return a true value at /home2/barrowwight/cgi-bin/ubb_profile.cgi line 96.
What do I do? Thanks in advance! smilies/smile.gif

I am getting the "software error" message in the "my profile" area also. I was notified of a PM, but can't get to my private messages to respond to it. Any assistance will be appreciated. smilies/smile.gif

Ah, I am not alone. I sent this bugReport earlier to the specified address, and so far nothing has happened; I was being "patient"... should I have sent it to a different email address?
Software error:
/home2/barrowwight/cgi-bin/Members/pm_topics/E/00008199.cgi did not return a true value at /home2/barrowwight/www/ubb/Templates/public_my_profile.pl line 232.
For help, please send mail to the webmaster (webmaster@forum.barrowdowns.com), giving this error message and the time and date of the error.

And I thought I was alone. It's quite encouraging not to be the only one with this problem. But I hope it would be solved. smilies/smile.gif

Though it is important that we know about all errors, not all of them are as critical as others. Private Messages are a fun feature on the forum, but the forum continues to work with or without them, so PM errors (unless they affect everyone) often go to the bottom of the stack of things to do. They have now come to the top of the stack and have been corrected (hopefully).

No problem, BW. I've had my share of pesky bugs, and folk that want them fixed yesterday. THanks; PMs are back up and running. Kudos.

I noticed another problem today, it's definately not crucial, but still rather odd. When I go to my profile and click "View Recent Posts", most of the threads that I'm listed as posting on recently are from at least last summer, if not older! And those certainly are not my most recent posts...

On occasion we have to reset the database form PM's to correct odd errors that occur. when we do this, it rearranges them alphabetically instead of chronologically. Unfortunately, this messes up your list, but each new post you make from now on will be in the correct order. Eventually we'll have to reset it again, so be aware that this will happen now and then.

I seemed to have picked up a cookie that I didn't want. Every time I click anything in the "Movies" forum, I get a pop-up to sign into "WaroftheRing.net". It doesn't happen in the rest of the Forum, though. I've just been cancelling out of it.

Ainur,
The exact same thing happened to me this evening, and I believe I posted immediately after you did on the Oscar buzz thread. It is repeatedly popping up when I read or post in the movies forum.
The pop-up says "Network password"
Please type your user name and password.
Site: .......warofthering.net

That pop-up for "Connect-to-www.waroftherings.net" is coming up for me in Movies - "Return of the King Oscar Predictions" and in The Barrow Downs - "Where is everyone from??" topics

We've had such a case before, and then like now it's a member's avatar being linked to an inaccessible remote page. No reason to worry, ignore it; member has been contacted.

I had the same problem as Morgul Queen 1 hour ago when trying to access www.barrowdowns.com. (http://www.barrowdowns.com.)
First error message:
Microsoft Jet Database Engine Error
80004005
unspecified Error
/includes/calendar.asp, line 8
Second error message: (on retry a little bit later)
MS VBScript runtime Error 8000a1fb

I had the same problem as Morgul Queen and Elrond of Rivendell a few hours ago when trying to access the Barrowdowns main page:
Microsoft Jet Database Engine Error
80004005
unspecified Error
/includes/calendar.asp, line 8
This happened a few days ago too. It's not a big problem though, since it went away after a few hours.

The error:
Microsoft Jet Database Engine Error
80004005
unspecified Error
/includes/calendar.asp, line 8
is caused by server problems and does not need to be reported. If you wait awhile, it usually goes away. If it persists, then please drop a note here or e-mail me.
Thanks
