Haven't we all smiled at the strange twists letters take when we type quickly? Here's our chance to share some of those that inadvertantly give new meaning to the sentence in which we find them.
...the froging of the Rings is not remembered by anybody living.

Here's one that has been posted on the homophone thread, though it is actually a typo, and what a great one!

The Eldar weeded for the most part in their youth and soon after their fiftieth year
more to come...

Another misadventure:

-But i got to dance!!!
-Lush loves to dance
-With the past-expiration date rat boys?

Actually, Merendis, judging by the social scene at Duke, the word "rat" is rather appropriate. Also, the word "Mordor," but we won't get into that for now.

this one post was so full of mistakes I didn't know where to start or finish. So here's the whole thing. i knw sorry ok i wil use the period thingy. u are righ talot of variations in elvish since tolkien never completed it so they expanded it. its ok to haev diff varations like as in chinese have liek two varations for one language like manderness adn cantonese. so i mean having diffs is ok jsut not like u know totally something a 5 year old made but i would like to learn them all. Grey company also has a place were u can learn uh the other elven language but its in there secluded dictonary. SO u can find it to learn that and other stuff ijust would liek to learn all elvish if i could well
Quel fara= Good hunting

i tink u guys are cool well later. and were these periods better hahah.

Beren87:
"whispers to herself "u guys r so meen'"

What I find amusing is that she managed to spell "whispers" and "herself", and wrote out "to" instead of saying "2", but she goes into "u" and "r", and misspells "mean", saying "meen". You would think that she would have said, "whsprs 2 hrslf 'u guys r so meen'", or, "whispers to herself, 'you guys are so mean'". The fact that she did a combination is quite interesting.

I had one a few days ago which I had forgotten to post, but I edited it immediately and later ended up deleting the post: it was about The Matrix (go figure), and I was mentioning the third movie, Matrix Revolutions. However, it was late, and I wasn’t really following my fingers, as otherwise I would have noticed that I had written “Matrix Revelations” till the post was up... agh. smilies/wink.gif

I fear my spelling accuracy (or lack thereof) greatly warrants my mention on this thread. In hobbbit disguise

And ANOTHER rare species! Almost as rare as that honnit and that hoobit! Three similar rare species! The hobbbit, the hoobit, and the honnit. All rather similar to their not so rare cousins, the hobbits.
Honnits tend to have very thin, black legs, while sporting a nice pair of bee-wings on their backs.
Hoobits tend to wear shoes. Mostly boots.
Hobbbits tend to hold their consonants for a longer time than the others, and are almost indistinguishable from hobbits.
If you should perchance be talking to a hobbbit, run away quickly, for any sign of laughter on your part will be challenged as a mickey taking of the speech of this unusual creature!

arouse verb 1 awaken 2 stir, move (a feeling or person)

And thats a dictionary definition, so neh!

I'd like to take this moment to point to the subject heading, Typos (or: Is It a Freudian Slip?) to those who question the suitability of the original joke. May not be a textbook typo, but the alternate meaning could qualify as a Freudian Slip. Furthermore, it doesn't even merit a PG-13 rating, and so if you think that's too riské, you would be horrified by the Entish Bow RPG. I rest my case.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what a Freudian slip really is.

It's defined as "A slip of the tongue that is motivated by and reveals some unconscious aspect of the mind." In other words, when you accidentally say what's on your mind. smilies/wink.gif Or, I suppose, it could be referring to Freud's heretofore unknown habit of wearing his mother's slip, but that's debatable...

the guy who be short
07-25-2003, 08:12 AM
What she means is when you type something that has either two meanings, eg: aroused Huorns; or else there is a typo and the sentence means something else, eg: writing in dunes.
Therefore, chat mistakes and typos (such as the nazghul one we just had) do not qualify.

Edit: In two posts, I too shall do the wave for chronological order.
