I know most of you use Tolkien quotes all throughout your day. Now's your chance to share them with us! Here are a few of my regulars:
Everytime I see someone eating an apple: "Waste of a good apple."
When I sit down to do my Geometry homework: "Not with 10,000 men could you do this. It is folly."
When I walk up to an automatic door: "Mellon!"
One time I had to go to the front office of my school to fix something in my schedual and my friend wanted to come along. I yelled, "No, Sam! I'm going to Mordor alone!" and ran off, leaving my friend staring after me with a confused expression on her face.

I heard that some people say, “Why do you lay these troubles on a already troubled mind” when their teacher gives out homework. Not exactly Tolkien but close enough.

I am a sucker for jewellery, and i too mutter. "we wants it we does!"
I too frequently use, the troubled mind one... lets see what else?....
Oh yes. In test conditions... "you cannot pass!"

When I go for a drink,
I take my glass of beer close to me, saying:
"My preciousssss..."
When I'm eating a cracker:
"Lembas, Just a tiny bit can fill a grown men's stomac."
And I often use the words: "so it begins" for all different kinds of occasions.

"Gondor has no ___, Gondor needs no ___."
Works for any occasion.
If I'm angry, I just hiss like Gollum. I don't use words unless I'm actually doing an impression of the Green One.

I tell my sister "You cannot pass!" when she tries to come into my room, and use some other quotes that I can't remember right now.

Heheh,
"Begone foul Dwimmerlaik!" is fun way to scare off telemarketers.

Yes, I too use almost all of these. "Of all confounded nuisances you are the worst" is fun to say. I haven't tried it yet, though. That should be good on telemarkers. smilies/biggrin.gif

He he these are all good. The other day when my parents and I were wandering around my campus for orientation I felt we were taking the longest way to get to my residence hall. So I immediately thought of my favorite dwarf Gimli "If anyone was to ask for my opinion, which I note they're not, I'd say we were taking the long way 'round." My dad just stared at me and continued on his way. Much like Gandalf had done, making us go the longest way for nothing. smilies/rolleyes.gif

This is really funny because my job includes a bit af telemarketing!! If a client would answer with a lotr quote, that would be awesome!! I guess my boss wouldn't like it though...
Hey, this morning, me and my brother were brushing our teeth in front of the mirror in the bathroom, and I suddenly asked him:
"Will you look into the mirror?"
He immediately understood what I was talking about and replied: "What will I see?"
And we did the entire Galadriel-Frodo conversation.
Really great to start your day this way!!! smilies/smile.gif)))

Hey, another cool one you can use for all different kind of occasions:
fi: you see a friend walking down the street:
"that's 'name', unless my eyes are being cheated by some spell."

To be honest, I quote all the time. It would take too long for me to tell you about every time I quote, since it's usually over 20 times a day at least. Therefore, please do not mind if I completely ignore this thread. smilies/smile.gif smilies/wink.gif smilies/tongue.gif smilies/rolleyes.gif

Ooh, I know I said I was gonna ignore this thread but I just gotta post this!
My friend was in the dinner queue, and two guys were pushing to the front. He turned around, quoting "I am a servant of the Secret fire (etc) You Cannot Pass!"
One of the boys said "Shut up" and punched him, and the teacher supervising the queue saw and said "You Two, go to the back!" (to the boys not my friend.
So they hadta go to the back, and my friend said "I told then they couldnt pass, but would they lsten? No"

haha these are great! Here's another one:
Whenever you're asked to run an errand for someone: "I will take the ____, though, I donot know the way."

When your mother tells you to eat your vegetables: "That would kill us! Kill us!" Or possibly: "Ach! (name here) can't eat that! Dust and ashes it is!"
The magnet is treacherous, and it will hold your to-do list to the fridge. Yeh it's late. Can't you tell?

"Begone foul Dwimmerlaik!" is fun way to scare off telemarketers.
I'll have to remember that...
And if you're stuck in rush-hour traffic, stick your head out the car window & yell, "Fly you fools!"

I enjoy yelling "Crebain from Duland! Hide!" and then trying to hide somewhere everytime I see a flock of crows. Then I start wondering about Dunland and trying to remember exactly where it is.

Its over by Isengard. To the left, I believe. I've had to check a few times in the past, so I'm pretty familiar with it now.
I tend to run and hide from crows as well. "Crebain!" has been one of my favourite past quotes.

--Dad's recently taken to bringing my brother and I out on his new boat for fishing jaunts and we hardly catch anything except skates and sandsharks--which are both unedible--so Wesley (my brother) and I will begin singing ... "Rock and pool is nice and cool, so juicy sweeeet. I only wish to catch a fish, so juicy sweeeeet!"
--Jumping the juniors after they get their class rings screaming "Precious! Thief Baggins!!" until their jewelry is surrendered.
Oh I know there's more, I'm so tired.

"Rock and pool is nice and cool, so juicy sweeeet. I only wish to catch a fish, so juicy sweeeeet!"
Excellent! I'm so doing that next time I go fishing...
And I thought of another one! One time, I was walking with some of my friends down this pathway that (to me at least) looked alot like the path Frodo & company were on after the "shortcut to mushrooms" line. So for the entire walk, if I thought I heard any sound behind us at all, I would yell "Get off the road! Quick!" and dive into a nearby bush, dragging one or two of them along with me. Yea, they don't go on that many walks with me anymore...

If you're having trouble with homework and a friend tells you to ask a teacher:
"comfort me not with teachers! their hope has failed, I am rubbish at this subject!"

Wow. I've been saying that a whole lot lately, and I'd had no idea where I'd got it from until I read that. And then I was going to ask when it was said, then who, and it all came back. I can see him at Helm's Deep now.
I also say Gandalf's lines in Moria a lot. 'Fly, you fools!' '... You cannot pass!' Sometimes I go through the scene with my one friend who's obsessed with LotR. It's fun. ^_^
I also had a friend who knew at least two thirds of all the Monty Python sketches by heart along with his dad, and they'd go back and forth with them. I think it'd be wonderful to do that with someone and LotR.

I wrote "You shall not pass!" on my Geometry binder... y'know, just to remind me what a pickle I'd gotten myself into.
I also had a friend who knew at least two thirds of all the Monty Python sketches by heart along with his dad, and they'd go back and forth with them.
Funny, I do the same!
What's that on the tellyvision set then?
Looks like a penguin...
