That is muy bueno!

As always, I am behind in the posting...I hope my post, though it kind of goes back in time from Daniel's, is okay. If not, I would appreciate it if it were moved. I will be shortly sending a PM to you, Cuth, to explain myself.

Thank you for your patience with me, and thank you much for that amazing compliment. That was...wow...I don't handle these things well.

;)

Don't be so quick to give up hope! There may be plans afoot to see this through. More later as I hear from Cuthalion.

Hmm...I'm not sure about this post, but nonetheless, it's up. I hope I shall be allowed a death scene as well...?

No death scene Archer...but you will have the last post. After I make my next (and last) post...I will PM you the Lay and I want that to be at the very end of your post. Arthain will not die...but the last we will see is him sitting on the ground holding Melost's dead form...the last thing he will do is sing the Lay...and so it will end.

That's perfect - I had kinda structured a post for the last scene, and no, Arthain does not die. I will paste the Lay onto it when you send it to me, Cuthalion :)

I have news...had I designed for him to die...he would die.

Indeed. :)

It is done.

Cuthalion, that last post was beautiful - thank you for this whole game, and for letting me participate in it. To all of you, I do not think I have gamed with a group of such outstanding individual and combined quality ever before, and it has been a very great pleasure.

Thank you.

A heroic tale, well and truly told. Congratulations and thank you to everyone involved for stellar work.

I have closed the game thread and will later today rearrange the order of some posts as Cuthalion has requested me to do. I will leave the discussion thread open for several days should anyone wish to post final comments.

Thank you also, Piosenniel, faithful reader, for your support and advice in the final days of the game.

Aman, Pio, Bethberry, those are some hard farewells to follow...

I have little to say, other than that I'm glad I was invited to play this game and got to write with such great story-tellers. We put together a story that isn't just about the movements of an entire army or the happenings of a group, it was about the lives and conflicts (internal and external) of individuals. It was a real experience, I must say.

Thanks to you all, Cuth, Maika, Aman, Daniel, and Durelin.

Thank you to Pio, reminding me (for I know the thought was in the back of my mind) that RPGs are not just for the writers, it's also for the readers.

Thanks to Bethberry, for seeing us through to a successful end and not giving up on us.

Great job, everyone!

It was lots of fun, everyone. And this was one great game - a real challenge!

I'm actually happier with this ending for Snyd, rather than the one I had intended before, where he would return to save Fid's life, only to die...

Well, I wish to say thank you to everyone, as well. And I believe this is due: *applause*

I object to Archer's last post...this is NOT how it is to end!! Arthain is not to die and I want no dialogue for Melost other than what I wrote. I have some specific edits I want to that post. Please do not archive it in this condition. Bethberry, can you PM me so that I can tell you my edits?

Cuthalion - may I ask what it is that you are unhappy with? You see, when you told me the original plan, you said both of them would die. Of course, maybe things have changed over the year-and-a-bit since then, but I would appreciate it if you would enlighten me as to where I have gone wrong. Would you mind PMing your suggested edits to me as well please?

I will let you two gamers resolve this between yourselves via PM and will step in only if you cannot reach an agreement.

However, I will point to the Rohan rules for gaming in The Golden Hall which stipulate that characters are 'owned' and run by the gamers who write them and that games are 'owned' by all the gamers who write for them and not only by the Game Manager. Role playing at the Barrow Downs is cooperative.

Archer has agreed to my edits for her final post.

Btw, Bethberry...if characters are "owned" by their players, why then did you ask Pio to take over Vlad without Maika's permission?

This thread seems to be engendering the kind of comments which tend to be best dealt with in PM and that is a regrettable way to end a noble game.

However, since you raised the question of handling gamer's characters, let me reply generally here, Cuthalion. There are two different cases being talked about. One is the case where a gamer is actively present and participating in the game. The other case is the situation where a gamer has disappeared for long periods of time. This is a different situation in that the gamer is unable or has been unable to continue; the game falters and the responsibility for carrying the character then devolves to the Game Manager and/or Moderator. For fuller explanations, please see the rules for gaming in Rohan in The Golden Hall.

In answer to the particular case of Maika's character, I made no such request without Maika's permission. Very simply, I contacted Pio, Child, and Mithadan about the feasibility of options for ending the game and told them that our discussions were dependent upon my hearing back from you and Maika about your preferences. If you want the particulars, please ask me for them via PM.

I am happy to hear that Aman and Cuthalion have resolved the various questions about how to conclude the game. I will unlock the game thread so the edits can be made.

Sorry, my fault - I thought Bethberry would be changing the post. :o Silly of me...

Cuthalion, the edit you specified has been made :) Thanks.
